FWIW....

At least there's a vote on a BBA but of course that will go down in flames.

And

Special committee to recommend cuts of $1.8 trillion (or whatever it takes to add up to the total of the debt ceiling increase)

Meh.

Also what is this 2.EIGHT trillion? That's more than...oh never mind.

And the Republicans get an invitation to Hussein’s birthday victory bash?

Sounds like Boehner and McConnell gave Obama his lifeline. With these numbers, the debt ceiling will not need to be re-addressed until after the election.

A nay vote will be an albatross around the neck of RAT candidates up for re-election next year. This is good.

BBA tied to NOTHING??—so they can spend with no cares and then say lawfully we have to pay for all their spending. It needed to be tied to GDP and have limits. Nothing about baseline budgeting. UGh!

a "vote" on a BBA is meaningless unless its passage out of Congress (to go to the states for ratification) is required in the deal:

"The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution...."

The Demagogues can allow a "vote" anytime on a BBA, but unless 2/3 of each house of Congress votes for the proposed amendment never even gets to go before the states (3/4 of which must then ratify).

In general, no Demagogues (or few) will vote for the BBA unless that's a required part of this deal, so the BBA never will get "proposed" by Congress to the states.

The BBA may go down in flames, but everyone will know who voted for and against.
