McCain rips Toomey on Senate floor (McCain attacks Tea Party vision as "flawed" and "terrible")

Former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, who this week referred to Tea Party lawmakers as "hobbits," publicly criticized Pennsylvania's Pat Toomey Sunday during an unusual unscripted debate on the Senate floor.

McCain, who appeared to be having a great 'ol time during a back and forth with Democrat Majority Whip Sen. Dick Durbin, referred to Toomey and those who share his views as "terrible."

I hate him. I hate him more then anyone currently serving in the government. I disrespect the people in the conservative movement that stood idly by to allow this man to coast to aother re-election.

McCain has been justly ridiculed for his WSJ sponsered Hobbit attack. McCain lost one of his longest serving friends complicit in our debt when Toomey defeated him. I am glad Toomey is there to stand as a reminder the establishment doesn’t always win. It took awhile but Toomey defeated Specter and now McCain has to see his face everyday and I am glad it’s such Hell on earth for him.

There is a good way to debunk a RINO at election. Just let Tea Party send a third party candidate and divide the votes from a RINO canididate. It is not fun to give a Democrat rival votes, but will force RINO a defeat and force those to give up running for another term.

Am I missing something. I don’t think he’s trying to fool us anymore. He knows that we know, but doesn’t give a rat’s patoot! And he is NOT going to change parties. As long as he stays put, he can vote with the RATS, while still being privy to everything the GOP might be planning.

The GOP actually planning something? Yeah, I know it’s a stretch. And would I actually suspect Johnny of BETRAYING his “colleagues”? He was accused of it in Nam. And the reason I think the Nam accusations were probably true is by watching what he has done SINCE Nam. Backstabbing other Republicans, including HIS RUNNING MATE, Sarah Palin! Collaborating with the opposition, e.g., Joining with Feingold in creating the McCain-Feingold Bill and practically sleeping with Ted Kennedy!

McCain-Feingold was just a ruse to make it more difficult for a new candidate to run against an incumbent and have any chance of winning.....until Sarah Palin began campaigning for the new candidates in 2010. But the saddest part was that she campaigned for HIM out of loyalty and the little creep won. But it does showcase the clout Sarah has when she takes on a cause!

Our people would be wise never to get into a foxhole with this senile old fool. He can’t be trusted and needs his head examined.

I think being a POW for all those years make him different than other Senators. Most of the time he votes Republican but he really is a maverick. Ask Sarah Palin.

McCain knows he will not be reelected in 2012.

We all know McCain will not be reelected in 2012. He isn't up for reelection until 2016.

McCain's private polling and counting of his high value contributors are indicating serious problems. Add to this the sustained popularity of Sarah Palin and McCain knows he is in serious trouble.

He isn't in serious trouble. He has five years before he has to face even a primary vote.

Where do you get your info about his "private polling?"

His options are leave without losing or leave after losing. Both options are extremely damaging to his self image and he is reacting accordingly.

No he isn't. He's just being the asshole he's always been.

Sadly, Juan McCain isn’t up for re-election until 2016.

I figure he is not planning to run again, so he feels free to let his liberal feelings out in the open now.

He was rumored to have collaborated with the Cong in Nam, and I believe that where there’s smoke there’s fire! One very big clue would be to examine how hw has acted SINCE Nam.

He collaborates with the opposition more often than not. He backstabs fellow Republicans frequently. McCain-Feingold frosted it for me.....that and his hanging Sarah Palin out to dry without so much as ONE WORD on her behalf when the media was attempting to destroy her!

I consider him very close to being the male version of Hanoi Jane Fonda! Based ENTIRELY upon how he has been and IS acting NOW! If he was a solid sterling, straight arrow Rock of Gibralter in Nam, it would follow that he would continue it in civilian life. But no! He has been a duplicitous conniving little ratfaced creep in civilian life. What does that tell you about Nam?

It is sort of difficult to understand his comments but he said "... because the terrible obstructionists on this side of the aisle, the terrible people, their flawed philosophical views about the future of america is not going to allow to us get 20 additional votes from your side, ... " so he seems to be complaining about being unable to get 20 Democrat votes for the Balance Budge Amendment. I don't know why he would blame Sen. Toomey and other more conservative Republicans unless he thinks they poisoned the version of the BBA introduced (?).

Laura supports Romney for president. She associates the Tea Party, not with what they came together for - getting rid of Obama’s socialists and the programs they passed - but as a Sarah Palin presidential organization.

I guess she thinks she has to burn down the GOP house to save her favorite socialist Repubican’s nomination. If she wins, she loses.
