"As soon as I opened the door, somebody grabbed me and took me outside and put me on the grass," Tossa said. "The first thing I thought was they were terrorists who want to kill me because I served in Iraq."

The DEA agents were executing a search warrant.

“I kept asking, what’s going on?” he said. “And they held my neck to the ground so I can’t talk.”

According to the report, the DEA was executing a search warrant for Tossa’s landlord’s son, who apparently uses Tossa’s one-story house’s address for mailing.

“Before they raid any house, they should have more information,” Tossa said. “Not rumors.”

If you quietly passed out a slip of paper with those two URLs on them to every respectable person you meet in a week, you would soon find that you have as much input as the entire town council does because those respectable people would be showing up at city meetings and demanding that the city manager stop supporting Agenda 21.

It only takes one person to hold the door open and you would be surprised at how many people will enter with a little encouragement.

I’m not blaming you for the actions or inactions of others. I am hopefully encouraging you to help others go in the direction we want them to.

Not really a “hate crime” but it was stupid enough to raise a few unibrows, no?

Hey now, we don’t want to require the idiots in the DEA to do research, do we?

That might interfere with their door kickin’ dog shootin’ good time deal they got a goin’ on.

It’s not the Bilderbergers or the one-worlders who kick in wrong doors, shoot pets and kill any innocents who would even DREAM of resisting their illegal depradations. It’s the COPS, SWAT run amok. True enough, the first mentioned have a lot to answer for, but YOU have the most, right now, because YOU AIN’T CALLING THE BAD COPS TO ACCOUNT. Which makes you a bad cop by association. So, rightly enough, you get the blame. When was the last time one of your department’s officers committed a crime and you wrote a letter to the editor denouncing that act and calling for his prosecution? And identified yourself as one of the miscreant’s brother officers? When was it? Never, you say? I say, never again wonder why cops are bashed all the time, and with complete justification.

But no longer a “FREE” society... but you’re ok with that, too, right? Seriously, you need to go down the hall to Tyrants-r-us. You’re on the wrong site.

Yeah all you libertarian phonies who want to legalize heroin, crack, cocaine, methedrine, LSD. What deep thinkers. You’ve harnessed some real brain power there!

Berlin_Freeper: ""This guy never noticed someone else using the home he rents as a mailing address and put an end to it? Then whines when it causes him trouble. Stupid ass.""

You're calling the victim a "Stupid ass"?

This is not complex for law enforcement to determine if a specific address for a subject is legitimate.

Bad guys generally don't want to be found, and use fraudulent mailing addresses as a matter of routine to avoid detection, while occasionally using drop addresses/boxes to receive the mail they do want.

Most cops know this.

You'd think if the police were going to conduct a dangerous armed raid on a residence, they'd at least take the time to determine if the person of interest actually lived at the address in question.

This can *easily* and *quickly* be done by using numerous pretexts, such as putting on a delivery shirt and going to the door, saying, "Package for Mr. bad guy, we need him to sign". Or, "I'm working for an attorney trying to find "Joe Blow", he received a small inheritance and we're trying to locate him, does he live here?"

There are a million different pretexts that are used all the time. Public law enforcement agencies use pretexts every single day to catch criminals.

Clearly, they did not perform common sense due diligence in this case.

But once again, your blind support for law enforcement is glaring.

I am truly sorry to hear of the trouble you have.

In this case, the man was renting the home from his landlord whose son was using the home as his mailing address. The renter could have informed his landlord about his own son and if that was not good enough then threaten to move out.

I know I would have. If I am the one paying expensive rent for the home, it would be unacceptable to me that another would use the address for mail.

And considering the trouble we know this guy had from it, he would have been better off if he had sought to put an end to it or move.

But who knows, maybe he will get his million dollar lawsuit for being put on the grass. No wonder he is crying to the Drive-by Media blaming the police for what is at least half his own fault.

Heck, I should be so lucky. LoL!

Just out of curiosity, have you EVER seen a police action that you wouldn’t defend?

Happens every day. Parents tend to trust children for something as simple as a mailing address.

Oh:

See 89, this did not have to happen if law enforcement in this matter made small efforts to determine if the subject they were looking for actually lived there.

It's called pretexts...They use them daily.

What blind support?

I agreed with the Cop Hater Mr Roberts in this very thread the police made an error.

And I stated that this incident is at least half his own fault.

Meanwhile I have never seen you post anything positive about the police. Even when I challenged you to post a positive story about the police you flat out refused.

But you needed to ping a mob to reply to my post here?

Not that I really care because I have come to expect weird things from you - but your vendetta is showing.

Are you going to spam me now with "copy and paste" like in prior threads?

No, you called the renter a "stupid ass" and clearly implied it was his fault when the fact is, law enforcement here did not do their job.

This was not the victims fault.

You are assuming that the renter knew the landlord's son was using that address. Since makinmg assumptions is the best you've ever done we shouldn't be too hard on you.

I occasionally get junk mail addressed to people who haven’t lived in my house in 20 years. I should probably inform the police, just in case they’re drug dealers.

I would recommend against that. You might say "I'm getting mail from someone who might be a drug dealer" but they might hear "I'm a smart aleck drug dealer rubbing your nose in the fact that you haven't found me." ;^)

Seriously though, the other side of that coin is that many people have mailing addresses registered in their name but don't get any mail there anymore. Not everyone follows the rules and has only one mailing address. Some people just notify everyone who needs to know, except the Post Office, that they have a new address.
