and that’s a good thing ... I hope more people in more cities and more states can carry ‘consealed’. carrying ‘open’ does not do anything but encourage theft of the weapon itself (and feed someone’s ego). Carrying consealed legally is a great thing, which not only provides security for one but for many since the bad guys don’t know who’s carrying.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Open carrying does NOT, in and of itself, encourage theft of the weapon; I usually carry openly and have never had someone touch my weapon who I did not give permission to do so while doing so.

Again, I disagree; while I was deployed in Iraq (and all of us US Army & Marines were required to have a weapon at all times) there were no out-of-control egos that were not already predisposed to BE out of control (certain sergeants and officers spring to mind).
