A Prayer for Perry
The Washington Times ^ | Aug. 5, 2011 | Jennifer Harper

Bashing Rick Perry has become real sport in the press. And no wonder. Journalists realize that the Texas governor could impinge on President Obama’s re-election efforts and are acting accordingly. Mr. Perry, expected to announce his own White House bid later this month, is drawing scornful scrutiny from those pining to paint him as brash Texan rather than a successful public official with considerable prowess in the economic realm.

Now under way: endless carping over Mr. Perry’s participation in "The Response"

Bashing Rick Perry has become real sport in the press.

Not just in the press. It goes on right here too.

If Perry is being bashed by those Marxists in the liberal Mainstream Media that must mean Perry is a tried and true old fashioned conservative, right?

It’s going to get worse. Another site has just released Perry’s purported grades (transcripts) from A&M, and they’re not exactly stellar.

OK...the country can have my governor, again, but this time I want something in return. Sarah Palin must move here and run to replace him.

I know it's not a fair trade, but we're kind of tired of trading down here in Texas and I kinda think the country owes us one.

Anything to avoid talking about his open borders record I guess.

Sarah Palin thinks highly of Rick Perry. Since she draws the ire from a lot of the media for things she does then some of that may be directed towards Perry.

**Rick Perry is true to conservative principles even when others think the party needs to go a different direction.

**He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular.

**He walks the walk of a true conservative.

**Not every child is born into ideal circumstances, but every life is sacred. Rick Perry knows this – it is at the core of his being.

**Will you join me in supporting a true conservative for governor – Rick Perry?

**Rick Perry is proven and principled.

Perry, was a democrat but like most democrats worth anything soon left the party..Like Ronald Reagan, Perry, is now a Conservative because of the values the conservatives have..He is my governor and I voted for him three times and will again if he runs for governor..I will also vote for him if he runs for President..

Really, I kind of think the Left is not going to want to go there again. It back fired on them when they tried to say Vietnam war hero Kerry had better grades than Bush and if they go there this time they will have to produce 0bama's transcripts and you don't hide something this long without a good reason to do so.

The press is going to HATE his positive approach and energy, so they certainly have to start on him early. Cool that they can get so much (maybe a couple of items) of their material from here. (/s) LOL. I will be glad when we get past the bloopers, early, and move on to the accomplishment. We are in sore need of a front runner, like
NOW.

Perry has a lot of his adult life as an elected official so he does have a record to be examined and comment upon. Rest assured they media will pour over the record in detail.

90% of the Perry bashers here are either liberal plants sent here to try and derail Perry (their biggest threat) before he even starts his campaign, and the rest are either supporters of another candidate trying to tear down the competition or simply people who want earthly conservative perfection that doesn’t exist from any candidate.

I agree. Harping on Perry’s grades would make it glaringly obvious that Zero’s are nowhere to be seen. Unless his bootlickers in academia are busily ginning up some fake transcripts for him to miraculously unveil right before the election. I wouldn’t put it past them.

......"The coverage does not mention that the Response — which is free — was never billed as a political event and has been endorsed by black, Hispanic and Asian-American clergy as well as by churches from as far away as Brooklyn, Los Angeles, New Orleans and even Switzerland. The media coverage also omits the fact that 1,000 churches nationwide plan to simulcast the seven-hour event.

“This will be a solemn occasion where people will gather to pray and repent, and seek God’s blessing and provision. We gather in a spirit of unity, in opposition to no group or perspective, and we will pray for the good of the country as a whole,” spokesman Eric Bearse tells Inside the Beltway."

Bump!
