$5000 REWARD! ARE THE CHURCH GUN "BUYBACKS" LEGAL?
Website ^ | 8/6/2011 | Evan F. Nappen

Posted on 08/06/2011 1:04:04 PM PDT by Revtwo

Evan F. Nappen, Attorney at Law and author of the “NEW JERSEY GUN LAW GUIDE” is offering a $5000* reward to the first person who can show to Attorney Nappen’s satisfaction the specific New Jersey gun law statutes ... which authorizes the Plainfield churches to act as “collection sites” in which persons are paid up to $200 in cash with “no-questions- asked” for any type of gun from handguns to “assault firearms” and said guns are then destroyed without further investigation.

Do you think the ATF is going to go after them?

Sounds like a great way to make a murder weapon disappear.

Boy, I wish someone around here would start a “Buyback” program for guns.
I have an old “Saturday nite” special I need to get rid of. probably worth 40-50 bucks on the open market, but if some dogooder would just give me $200.00 for it, I could convince the lovely Mrs Tupelo to let me get that new Judge.

I am a strong advocate of "buy back" programs for broken or worn out firearms.

That way the owners can be reasonably assisted in getting started on the road to buying a NEW functioning firearm.

Several decades back I saw a study mentioned by one of the major syndicated columnists concerning firearm accidents. It seemed African-Americans had an accident rate out of all proportion to the number of people involved ~ but not out of proportion to the condition of the firearm involved.

It made sense to help them get new weapons but at the time the politicians weren't interested in that.

Today we all know that we are all better off if we have invisible members of the people's militia wandering about with weapons at the ready to put down mad dog killers and thugs ~ doesn't matter the color.

Lawabiding people should not only have a right to carry weapons at all times they have a right to have safe (to the operator) working firearms!

These “buybacks” are criminal in several respects. It allows criminals to get rid of crime guns at a profit, it encourages theft of guns, and many valuable collector’s items are destroyed by ignorant do-gooders. I have a few junkers and parts guns down in the basement I’d love to sell to some chump for $200, but when I see some valuable antique sold for scrap, I cringe.

Do the churches have a state issued permit to purchase? Citizens have to have one to legally buy a gun.

From the Beat Farmers:

Gun Sale At The Church Lyrics

Well let’s pack up the kids and take a break, get away
Leave the hustle and bustle of living from day to day
And I know that the crime in the city is-a getting worse
So we’re going on down to the gun sale at the church

Well my lady’s all set to have us a real good time
Baby Johnny’s got fins but he don’t seem to mind
So the family’s all ready to pray at the holy perch
That’s set up in the middle of the gun sale at the church

Well we’ll ask the lord to forgive us all of our sins
And we’ll look at the latest in gold plated firing pins
Well my two main men are Jesus and old John Birch
So we’re going on down to the gun sale at the church

Does the church have an FFL?

People who live in states with freedom should obtain the NJ firearms laws and read them, you won’t believe someone could put together something so ridiculous. The law about the hollow point bullets is my favorite.

I think you misunderstood. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my old Saturday Nite Special. It still shoots OK and the cylinder still locks up OK. It was just a piece of crap when my late father-in-law bought it sometime around 1965 and still is. Now the thought of that new Judge brings a real smile to my face. And the thought of a new Judge that is 50% paid for by some do gooder gun control type makes me laugh out loud.

Yes, "gun bybacks", AKA "trade-ins", are one of the major points in my GUN SAFE AMERICA project. As an amendment to the CAFE standards new automobiles (and pickup trucks) will come pre-equipped with suitible "gun safes" and "locking racks" so your guns are safe from depradation while you are in your neighborhood hunting, fishing and firearms store picking out your new pistol, or maybe a crate of appropriate ammunition.

Add the NRA safety course to the Health and Safety program at Jr. High level and WE ARE IN BUSINESS.
