TIME FOR ANOTHER HARD LOOK AT OUR “ALLIES”?
Powerline ^ | august 6,2011 | STEVEN HAYWARD

Posted on 08/06/2011 4:19:02 PM PDT by Hojczyk

Associated Press is reporting that the helicopter that crashed, apparently under fire, in Afghanistan, has killed 20 members of Seal Team 6, the same unit that nailed Bin Laden. It is not clear yet whether it may in fact be some of the same individuals from Seal Team 6 who were on the Bin Laden mission–that information we’re likely never to find out. But either way, it seems doubtful this is a coincidence. I hope a congressional committee will not accept the State Department and Pentagon line on what happened, and inquires whether Bin Laden sympathizers in Pakistan’s ISI, or inside the Afghan government, played some role in targeting and bringing down this crew.

Maybe we should investigate certain members of the US government who couldn't shut up about Seal Team 6 when they got Osama.

Our EU “allies” could stand a reevaluation too.

Yet another story that ignores the none SEAL, the other special operations GIs, other Americans, and allied dead.

If you are a special operations helicopter crew you know that you will die in anonymity if any SEALs are onboard your chopper.

True, but it would be completely understandable if our "allies" were to reevaluate us. With Zero in the White House, I would be reluctant to depend on this country if push came to shove.

and don't forget the Armed Forces have actively recruited from the US Muslim community and we all know how trustworthy and patriotic some of those characters are.

I feel sure there are plenty of moles around, working their way into a sensitive area and waiting their “call.”

I have often said that Muslims should be banned from military service. Call it profiling if you want, but such an action is like deliberately injecting yourself with poison. If anybody wants to see what Muslims will do in sensitive positions, simply look at the White House, and the havoc that Obama has visited upon us all.

Friends, let’s admit it.
The only way to end this war with the radical Muslims is to take care of them like we did the Japs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Unfortunately we don’t have the balls to do it.

Yes, is unfortunate. We left Poland flapping in the breeze simply because Putin made some vague promises. Israel gets knifed as well, as Obama tries to show the world what a good Muslim he is.

I don't know Psalm, but I truly believe that four more years of Obama will finish us off or ignite a terrible conflict.

Yes indeed.

The entire action needs to be investigated.

Why were so many SEALS in one Helo and a slow moving one at that!

Why were they with Afgans?

Who else knew about the mission?

Could an Afgan in the Helo, destroyed it?

I don't care if I am on Napolitano's terrorist list. I'm sure I am because I am critical of both her and Obama. It's a very easy club to join as set forth in the HS guidelines. Former military, present Iraq military personnel returning home. Anybody who is opposed to this administration is on the list. They can highlight my name for all I care.

Think about those guidelines for a moment. It's not funny at all (not directed at you of course). They mean business.

Once again I agree with you, but he merely culminates a very long drift to this shipwreck. Woodrow Wilson, FDR, indeed almost everything since the end of WWII.

But for the sabotage and decay enacted by several generations of eager malefactors who proceeded him, Barry Soetero or Barack Hussein Obama or whatever his actual name might be would never have been nominated, far less elected. I still regard him more as a sign of total systemic collapse more than its prime mover, although after a point the sign and the deed begin to merge.

These seem like the most likely suspects, especially the Pakistani intelligence service. It's too hard to believe that the Taliban just stumbled into enough dumb luck to allow them to shoot down and kill members of the same team which took out Bin Laden.

A huge PR victory for the Taliban and Al-Qaida, and of course a major tragedy for the families and friends, and the Navy SEALs team.

You are correct. Never EVER, for any reason, trust a muslim. That goes 100x-fold when life and death of our assets are on the line — and over there, they always are.

I understand what you are proposing; I look at it this way. I get your point of a slow drift towards the state of affairs we see today. I suppose that my way of conveying it would be a graph showing the drift you mention, with a huge spike during this presidency.

I still regard him more as a sign of total systemic collapse more than its prime mover, although after a point the sign and the deed begin to merge.

I understand completely. Point taken.

Civil issues regarding 'profiling' in this case are ridiculous. His belief system is clear; it is to destroy America. The only reason a Muslim would want to be in the armed services is simply the proposition elpadre submitted. To gather intelligence, to use the word "mole" as he did. Anybody who suggests that this is unfair profiling is being foolish. It is akin to a known cop-killer wanting to become a policeman. Or a pedophile opening a day care center. It's a joke.

I am not sure what to think about any of this for exactly the reason you mention. What proof was provided regarding the events of Bin Laden’s demise? The information released about that event and now this event is all subject to political filtering. The information could be accurate, or it could all be some type of ruse to placate Bin Laden’s former followers. We are only hearing what those in charge want us to hear.

I would put nothing past the Obama administration. If they suspected just one SEAL was going to be a whistle blower about some aspect of the operation to take out Bin Laden... does anyone here believe they would hesitate for even a moment to take out a few dozen of America's finest to cover their tracks. Or being imaginative... maybe the SEAL team wasn't suppose to push Bin Laden out of the copter out in the middle of nowhere, and this was retribution for the Muslim-in-Chief. Who knows?

interesting point.
especially if it’s true they were ambushed on the way to a rescue mission.
