Here you have the official view of the ruling class, right from the article:

"It is just going to make matters worse. I would hate to see this turn into a generational or racial battle."

It may not be as nuanced and polished as an official ruling class document would have read, but the guy is 23 years old, so give him a break.

Defending your property is only going to make matters worse and could lead to racial and generational conflict.

Things will be better if you just let the "youths" have their way. Got it? < / sarcasm >
