Given this sequence of events, it is more than reasonable that King has asked for an investigation. There is no evidence of a explicit release of classified data, but the January 13 2011 variety article and Dowd Op-Ed pieces both make mention of classified access. And, the actions of the Hurt Locker team to solidify funding and settle on actors just before OBL was killed, after the project languished for years, is suspect.
Would it surprise anyone that an over anxious Obama election team would use knowledge of OBL's whereabouts to hint to a leading movie director of the genre that it was time to accelerate the "Kill Bin Laden" project? Perhaps with a wink and a nod that the project could get funded by a rich Obama supporter?

I can imagine the panic if the WH were collaborating on an October Surprise of this nature which possibly resulted in the deaths of US servicemen.

I still can’t get over the fact that such a large contingent of SEALS were sent on a mission to intercept fleeing Taliban. To me this type of mission would best be a routine gig for a Marine or Ranger fire team.

Wouldn't have to have bells and whistles, “just the facts ma'am.” maybe a documentary with people like Sinise and Jon Voight.
It would take up a lot of time and people, but cut back on how pretty it is. See if Glenn Becks' team, Rush's team, etc can all be tasked with a portion. I heard a novel was written by about a dozen people working on their aspect - long ago but under budget, etc. I will try to find it. Each group would be simultaneous working while other task group's tasks are working on theirs.
Get all of the groups whatever they need. Look at what it took to film ACORN. Think back on movies that were made cheaply and brought in lots - use college workers if possible. Check with Tea Bag Partiers are interested, the Heritage Society, etc have information already for use. Call that guy James, the ACORN buster to see if he would be interested and if he has some friends that would want to be a part of Gonzo Movie. Think like "Blair Witch" movie - I still get creeped just thinking about some of it! It just has to have verifiable facts. Leave their October surprise be surpassed by ours.
