Palin: “Could I Support Somebody Like Mitt Romney? Yeah”…

DES MOINES, Iowa — 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said Friday that she still hasn’t decided if she’s going to run for president. Palin is also undecided about whom she would endorse if she ultimately decided against entering the race.

Swarmed by media and supporters at the Iowa State Fair, the former governor of Alaska told The Daily Caller that she’s not concerned that Mitt Romney is considered the frontrunner at this time.

“No, nothing worries me at this point,” Palin told TheDC. “Could I support somebody like Mitt Romney? Yeah.”

When TheDC pointed out that some tea partiers have pledged to make sure Romney doesn’t get the nomination, Palin said, “I’m of the mind of ABO — Anybody But Obama, at this time.”

It’s getting totally out of control.

John Kerry said the same thing just recently about the anti-Romney Tea Party.

By the way, they were just talking about this on Fox News a couple of hours ago.

Don't know what you're talking about. I do know that Romney is a phony and a fraud. Not to mention an enemy of Free Republic.

Conservatives are working to save America and preserve our Constitutional Republic. Any support of Romney for potus seriously undermines that effort.

Besides, Obama will kick Romney's butt, from coast to coast, inside and out.

How can any true conservative vote for Mitt Romney when he supports comprehensive immigration reform,(code phrase for amnesty).

Depends on when that support comes. If it's before the candidate is chosen, vote for someone else more conservative but if it's AFTER the nominee is chosen, and if it's Romney, it's easy, take a good look at Obama and you can see why it's easy to vote for Romney then.

Yeah, and too bad Fox failed to mention, as ejdrapes, that she jumped on the phone and immediately admonished the Romney loving journalist who misquoted her.

Er, where did I post anywhere that Palin ENDORSED Romney or this comment means she would ENDORSE Romney? I didn’t. The original article I posted included the ABO - Anybody But Obama line.

Seriously? Were you just trying to be subtle when you posted the excerpt, and the comment, “Could I support somebody like Mitt Romney? Yeah” - in LARGE RED TYPE that stuck out like a sore thumb?

So you weren't trying to tell us that Palin would endorse Romney? Then why exactly did you post the article at all?

Second guessing. Not a leadership quality.

Perhaps, like many, the two are not that terribly different. Both say one thing while campaigning and do other things when elected. Also, the context here is important. Even in your excerpt, it is the final nominee they were asking about. Wouldn’t most endorse a rock if it were the alternative to Obama?

Some principled conservatives aren't planning on supporting or voting for Romney even if he gets the nomination.

You probably would if Palin told you to....

she jumped on the phone and immediately admonished the Romney loving journalist who misquoted her.

When has she ever not done that after speaking?

Seems to have been a pattern with her for years.

Your post #50 tells a different story.

There is no need to perpetuate media hit pieces (blatant lies) on conservatives here on freerepublic. If you do not support Palin due to specific issues with her, you are entitled to your opinion.

The fact that you would actually trust the MSM, especially a journalist from a RINO site, is quite telling.
