Reid: Tea Party will fade away in time By Michael O'Brien - 08/14/11 11:39 AM ET

The days of the Tea Party's influence on American politics are numbered, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said this weekend.

The Senate's top Democrat told a home state newspaper that he expects the conservative activist moment's grasp on the GOP to diminish, a bold prediction given the influence that group showed Saturday in Ames, Iowa, where Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), a Tea Party darling, won an influential presidential straw poll.

"The Tea Party was the result of a terrible economy … I've said that many times, and I believe that," Reid told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in an interview published Sunday.

"That [the Tea Party] will pass. They will lose a number of seats next year," he said.

One of these days, the moguls of Las Vegas will come to realize that 99.99% of their (our’s too) economic problems are largely due to Harry Reid’s economic beliefs.

They are so blind for power they cannot see or hear that “they” are the reason the Tea Party exists. And, it is their arrogance that gives it life. That arrogance is like oxygen on the Tea Party fire.

A "trip and fall" at his age can produce delusional thinking caused by a head injury....or more of the same in his case.

May I suggest:

"Term Limits (for politicians and their staffs) are the law of the land, ending the plague of career politicians."

But you (Harry Reid) and your socialist cabal will have to be gone first.

“It’s because of self-absorbed, career politicians like Reid that the Tea Party came to be in the first place.”

Exactly. Justice would be if Reid had to wait tables and as to learn something about humility.

If Reid truly wanted to fix our economy all he has to do is make Cowboy Poetry festivals mandatory in every district of every state. sigh.

Reid has it backwards.

All the DC Hacks on both sides will fade away or be voted out.

The Tea Party movement’s grassroots initiation and growth was/is the realization by the silent majority that the GOP no longer represented the principled things it believes in.

Formost of those things is a belief in God. Secondly we believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness—our God given rights spelled out in our constitution.

Usurpton of the WH by The Marxist Onada and the bad economy were subsets of those beliefs.

I would like to this opportunity to thank Arizona voters for the despicable Senator Harry Reid.

The Tea Party was the result of a terrible economy

The Tea Party was created by American people to represent them because the Republicrat/Dumbocan Party certainly does not. In fact the Republicrat/Dumbocan Party seems to work entirely against the will of the American people.

The Tea Party will fade away as soon as we have a true conservative Republican Party in the white house and both houses of Congress. However, it will always rear it’s head when needed to make sure the people are still in charge and not the government and to make sure we are adhering to the Constitution.
