Gateway Pundit ^ | August 15,2011 | Jim Hoft

Another flashmobbery took place at a 7-11 in Montgomery County, Maryland. Apparently, the police did not respond until the looters had ransacked and left the store.

From the video: A 7-11 in Montgomery County, Maryland was hit by a flash mob on August 13, 2011. The clerk activated a silent alarm, but police waited until the mob left the store before responding. Further, according to the video, the officer refused to investigate the crime, and only viewed this incident as shoplifting.

I stand corrected if the facts were not accurately listed here.

I was responding to the article saying that the cops waited until the mob was done before going there. It made it sound like the cops just don’t intervene in a crime in progress. If that’s not accurate I stand corrected.

Many of you have missed the point.

This story shows the ignorance of the Washington DC based black population that has moved into Montgomery County.

While flash-mobs in other cities have moved on high priced merchandisers the dipstick ignorant POS troops from Montgomery invade a 7-11 and steal slurpee’s and Moon pies.

These are the people who elected Governor O’Malley, Steny Hoyer, Mikulski and Cardin.

Nothing dumber than a S.E. Washington refugee or a P.G.County neighbor going next door for a Flash Mob scene.

“What’s the difference if it’s done by one person or 20 people? No one was injured”.

I disagree. There is a dramatic difference in your comparison. One person swiping a candy bar secretly is shoplifting. Why this is so disturbing is that a MOB/GROUP of approximately 3 dozen people stole items without fear of the police, customers, or the clerk. They use a large group to ensure that no one will stop them. No one was injured... yes. This time. However, the same group of people could easily have overtaken one or two law enforcement officer or beaten to death/raped anyone in the store that they wanted. IMHO.

The food desert probably develops through business losses. Mom and pop grocery stores can’t withstand shoplifting losses and robberies. Eventually they fold. Larger chains just close and move out when the profits don’t meet their standards.

I feel for you. When you get the chance, move on over to Virginia.....we pack heat.....everywhere. We don’t have the problems that other states have.

That was looting, not shoplifting.

So now the cops aren’t even bothering to pretend to respond.

Obama, Reid, Pelosi and their democrats, have been a flash mob attacking our country. Holders people are simply following the example of their leaders.

WTF is right: Detectives should be trying to nab a sample, charge them to the max, and settle for getting the names of the ringleader(s).

If they can prosecute pro lifers under RICO, why not flash mobs? Oh, Holder's People?

In terms of the law, it's a misdemeanor. At least in my state. I admit that it's more intimidating when it's done by a large group, but the law doesn't really discriminate (unless it's a gang related or hate crime).

This was simple shoplifting. No property was damaged, no one was injured as far as I can tell. If more comes out about this incident, then I'll change my tune.

The police in Montgomery County MD “retire” at about an 80% “disability” rate. This has been an ongoing scandal. I guess the police are taking it easy so they don’t get some sort of disability injury when they confront criminals. You and I know there is merely a thin veneer to civilization around these metropolitan jungles. The ferals are out there. Now the government gives them free phones to organize their antisocial madness. Maryland is THE Freak State.

Thank you. Virginia is a beautiful state. Believe me, “Montgomery” flight is not uncommon. I’ve spoken with a lot of neighbors and they have the same mind set as we do. It is a “as soon as we can go, we will go” attitude.

At the end of the tape the police officer states that they are “taking this very seriously” Yeah, maybe, but what are they doing about it? Nothing, not in the hyper liberal people’s paradise of Montgomery County, Maryland. And don’t even think of going near Baltimore at night.

This just give the green light to other ‘yutes’ who want to do the same thing. Like all thefts, they will scale up to bigger and bigger targets. Big box stores should take note.

It is Going to Get Bad. It is Going to Get Bloody . The Question is How Bad, and How Bloody.
Over at Hot Air Jazz Shaw points to a new Rasmussen poll that indicates roughly half of Americans expect violence when it comes time to pay the piper.
Nearly one-out-of-two Americans (48%) think that cuts in government spending are at least somewhat likely to lead to violence in the United States, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. But that includes just 13% who feel it’s Very Likely.
A bit less than have thinks that cuts will not lead to violence. These would be you victims.
I stopped by one of my local gun shops Wednesday night to drop off a part I had that belonged to the owner, and the gentleman behind the counter (who knows me as a gun blogger) took just a few minutes to tell me about the significant increase in calls about firearms just this week.
The calls were in response to the S&P downgrade, the rioting in Great Britain, and the mob racial violence in the Midwest and Northeast in recent weeks. It can happen here, and people are starting to say so.
A majority of calls were from young families that had not owned guns before, but who were now concluding that they need firearms to protect themselves.
Interestingly enough, the majority of callers seemed to be requesting information about AR-15 pattern rifles, similar to what our military carries but without the option of automatic fire. Most of these callers were hit by the shock shock of the cost of an AR ($750-$1500 and up) and didn’t have the money to purchase them, and so turned their attention to pistols and shotguns.
People are scared, and the clerk lamented that a lot of people now in the market aren’t going to get the training they should, and are going to end up shooting people they don’t legally have a right to shoot, and a lot of these people are going to end up in jail.
We’re going to have to severely cut social programs. As much as liberals are burying their heads in the sand (or other warm, dark places) to avoid dealing with that fact, we simply have to cut spending, and that is going to mean significant entitlement reform. Combine that with an entitlement mindset and a consumer culture with eroding moral guidance, and you have the recipe for the kind of violence you saw in the United Kingdom, and the very distinct probability that it will happen here to some extent.
The big question no one can answer is that we don’t know how widespread or deep the rioting and violence with occur.
Will it be mindless, but weapon-free looting and racial attacks like we’ve seen in recent weeks that just sent a few people to the hospital, or are we going to see cities burn again?
Will the violence be confined to small isolated incidents quickly stomped out by effective policing, or will President Empty Suit dither as America burns?
It is likely to get bad. How bad, we simply don’t know.

“That was looting, not shoplifting”.

I agree. There is a significant difference if one kid slips a Milky Way into his back pocket vs. a large group of individuals grabbing whatever they want, in force as a group. All I can say is that I am glad that no other customers were in the location. (dare I say white customers?) I think the tape would have been a lot more violent IMHO.

“Montgomery County aspires to be the Berkeley or Madison of The East”

Montgomery and Prince George’s counties are adjacent to one another. Both extremely liberal and ‘diverse’, and of course crime ridden.
