Palin: 'More power to Rick Perry'
By: Alexander Burns
August 18, 2011 03:16 PM EDT

Sarah Palin, who said once again today that she's still open to a 2012 presidential bid, tells Fox News's Megyn Kelly that she's on Team Perry when it comes to the Federal Reserve:

“More power to Rick Perry for calling it like he saw it, and the president in his typical reactionary way, did elevate Rick Perry and what it is that he had to say. And what Rick Perry had to say is what I wrote about 10 months ago, about quantitative easing and how monetizing our debt and printing more money in order to, essentially, devalue our dollar and devalue the problem that we’re facing today, with the debt that’s being incurred. What Rick Perry was talking about is what many of us have been talking about for many, many months, and that is the danger of, now, a QE3 program being put into place. And you know, he used some of that rascal type of rhetoric that he uses there in Texas and evidently the president took some issue to that. But it’s evidence, too, though, of our president’s arrogance, unfortunately, to tell a presidential candidate what to say, what not to say.”

Perry will go through the same vetting GWB did coming out of Texas. As he should.

I think Pawlenty stands a good chance of being Perry’s VP pick, should Perry win the nomination. Not saying it’s my favorite idea, just saying I think there’s a good chance of it.

I also saw it live. There’s nothing to read into it, as far as I’m concerned. There was no endorsement. She defended Perry’s statement. She chastised Obama. She said she’d made no decision about running. That’s it.

It must be a mutual thing. I am sure the press would have dug up bad blood here if they could. Now Perry and Bush on the other hand...

I thought Rick Perry was Persona non grata around here because he is a Rove plant and closet Bilderberg guy?

It's tough to keep track from thread to thread -lol!

Boehner was the latest "Rove Plant". I'm inclined to agree.

Just do a little reading on the Texas Corridor or the Guardasil controversy, or immigration, or any one of a dozen other topics I’m sure Freepers would recoil at.

It requires more than just a little, it requires alot. It also requires the due diligence to dig down to original source material, and not be influenced by superficial and agenda driven hit pieces.

Perry has his faults, including some real doozies, but the hyperbolic attacks emanating from multiple fronts suggests he's a man who is not only disliked for his failings, but feared for his achievements.

On balance, a man who is easily qualified to replace Obama, and a man I can support, should he be the Republican nominee.

Isn’t it funny we haven’t really heard much from Perry on any national issues until June.

I find that interesting, strange, and a red flag, but Normy is offended that Palin was the first major GOP figure to point out the nonsense of the fed/Obama fiscal nonsense. He's offended because she didn't call it treason was first in her criticism. How embarrassing is that?

Where was Perry when it was happening? Hell, where was Perry when she was being savaged for not being responsible for Gabby Gifford's shooting? Where has he ever been when it counted?

A Perry/Palin ticket would unite the conservative division and heal the nation. Gag me with a spoon, did I write that?

Yes you did! :)

I couldn't help but notice your tagline...

(Rick Perry was a democrat. So was Reagan. Oh crap.)

I'm so glad both of them saw the light. If Perry ends up President, I hope he will strive to advance the conservative cause further along the same path that Reagan chose.

That’s good. I want the candidate that has told us what he/she would do to reverse Obama’s damage. Not just the candidate who has succeeded in trashing his GOP opponents the best.

Politico headline is very misleading. I watched the entire interview and Sarah did not speak terribly flattering of Perry or Bachmann.

I did pick up on the sarcasm in a few posts, but it seems several people missed the sarcasm and think Sarah said something flattering about Perry. If anybody actually watched it? She really did not! I was pleased

Sarah still said nobody is in the race yet that would keep her out (I paraphrase)

I was very pleased to hear her say that she has yet to see anybody that would keep her out.

Another jab at Bachmann not having executive experience.

Meagan Kelly is not terribly savvy politically, yes I know she just had another baby, but she should have known that Governor Palin and Bachmann are not very close (to say the least...Bachmanns fault)

And she had no idea that Chris Cristy is also not a pal.

Sarah was not interested in discussing Bachmann`s Newsweek cover, she tried to change the subject, but Meagan kept coming back to it.

I like Meagan/ Megyn whatever, just that she should have been more up on the latest.

I've lived in Texas all my life. I'm just saying everyone is falling over themselves for him to be Reagan II. He ain't! If he survives to the nomination, I will vote for him and be glad about it. IMHO, he will disappoint the people I know that post on FR. Obama looks so bad, we would vote for Jane Fonda thinking she has to be better than Obama.

Palin has had the rectal exam of the century and they found NOTHING!!If the proctologists examine Perry, the will find a hemorrhoid or two, guaranteed.

Perry was the anti-Reagan, the last time Reagan voted for a democrat president was in 1948, Reagan helped lead the movement of conservative Americans away from the democrats.

Forty years later, long after we all knew what the democrats were, Perry signed up to replace a President Reagan with a President Al Gore.

You guys should be ashamed to compare an anti-Reagan, with the actual Reagan of the Reagan Revolution.

I don’t think all of them dislike him. Just about a week ago, there was an article that said GWB actually encouraged him to run! I don’t know who wrote that, but the article stated that Gov. Perry got a call from Pres. Bush where he was very much encouraged to go ahead and run for Pres.!

No I am not offended Lakeshark. Just pointing out she didn't say what Perry said.

I am sure if people were shoving cameras in Perry's face he would have defended her but the guy was being governor.

Palin has been all over the media for the last 2.5 years doing T.V. shows and working for Fox, her daughter was on a show and she was there.

I am not offended at Palin, I just don't think she matches up to Perry.

Perry is a sitting Governor doing the business of his state.

No I am not offended Lakeshark

You sure sniveled a lot about it and acted like it then. It's been some kind of bug you've had since I joined the thread. Why is that you acted that way when it was pointed out she brought up the subject 10 months before he did? It's actually documented by quite a few in this thread, yet you kept taking umbrage at the fact.

I am sure if people were shoving cameras in Perry's face he would have defended her but the guy was being governor.

It would have taken nothing for Perry but common decency and respect for someone who had helped him a lot in his primary to stride to the cameras and defend his so called "friend", doncha think? I think it shows poorly on him that he did not.

I do agree with one thing, she doesn't match up with him at all, rather she outshines him big time and he can't seem to handle that.

Well in your mind she outshines him but as an executive she doesn’t. Her experience doesn’t come close.

Alphabetical, age , years in office, ladies first.

Oh, how to choose the top of the ballot? Maybe a shooting/target contest?

I’m still convinced Sarah’s waiting to see how Rick vets under pressure from all sides.

Perry is kicking down doors and he is also my candidate

For SIX DAYS so far. You started off with negativity for Sarah over nothing - so not rocket science Perry is your candidate.

Palin walked around for quite a while saying "fight like a girl" or "woman up" and she did fine

Did fine? That's all you can muster up? If all SARAH did was fine - she wouldn't be the topic of the day everyday for three years.

Perry is showing the Republicans how to "fight like a man" and it scares them badly and I like it.

Showing the R's? Who was SARAH showing? We know he will not endure daily wrath for three years. WHAT Sarah announces will determine his fate - will it continue or lessen big time. It ALL revolves around SARAH. This lady holds the cards - that's a given.
