Thought you might be interested in this example. Our initial conversation took place on the Rush Limbaugh thread Aug 15. He was discussing the Paul Krugman comments about space aliens.

At that time (on the above Rush thread) I stated:

No coincidences in the art of propaganda with these folks. They ARE, IMHO seeking to drum up the masses to the fear that would cause them to demand the kind of spending and preparation on the part of government which would take away ALL liberty. (Van Jones “topside down bottom side up inside out”)
If the invasion or even the precariousness of the current situation was truly being taken seriously by our government, there would be massive civil defense and civil training programs put into place.

I thought the government stance was that there aren’t any UFO’s.
They are getting desperate.
Now they will trump the whole “Aliens will kill us if we don’t control gorebull warming!” Angle.
These morons don’t realize that space itself is so vast and so full of resources that any alien civilization worth it’s salt will view being still living in a gravity well of a planet the same way we view the Amish.
The asteroids alone contain vast amounts of easily obtainable resources for any interplanetary civ, let alone one that is interstellar.
If aliens come to destroy us it would most likely be done to snuff out any potential competition. As is the case with how biology works by nature and the best model we have so far to attempt to model their potential motives.
Now if these lunatrons are putting this idea out there, I can’t help wondering if they have levers to fake such an event.
