Only 49 percent of Hispanic Americans said last week they approve of the job Barack Obama is doing as president, according to the Gallup poll. That is down 36 points from the high of 85 percent that Obama’s approval hit among Hispanics in the Gallup poll in the spring of 2009, his first year as president.
Obama’s approval among Hispanics hit an all-time low of 45 percent in the last week of July, according to Gallup. It has rebounded modestly since then.
Obama’s declining approval among Hispanics came before the administration announced a new policy on Thursday that will allow Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to suspend deportation proceedings against illegal aliens if she does not deem their cases sufficiently serious to require enforcement of the immigration law or if she believes their continued presence in the United States will not be a threat to national security or public safety.
Well, most Hispanics work for a living and many of them run businesses. Like Black Americans, I don’t beleive many of them favor homosexuals.
There are good reasons Obama is beginning to loose traction with these groups.
They’ll vote for him anyway.
It came before he told hispanics he will defy the law and screw all legal citizens by protecting non citizens who are stealing their jobs and have absolutely zero right to be here, except to vote for Obama.

I disagree.
I actually think Obama's illegal actions on immigration will not win him the hispanic vote. They are not stupid and will not just follow him because he is throwing this bone their way.
I bet his hispanic support remains around 50% on election day......a death knell for any liberal.

The #1 thing that Hispanics want is a roaring economy, if he isn’t delivering that, they don’t give a rip about this.
Hispanics have a small group of very active agitators on this issue, but the majority of them want what everyone else wants....a stable, safe, prosperous society.
The Democrats love dividing everyone into groups and stereotyping them then polarizing them in a attempt of being able to put their votes in their pocket.
The only group this has worked with was with Blacks....when this effort fails with Hispanics, I wish that these guys would take this time for self reflection and realize the assumptions of a political pay-off from such a large diverse group never happen and it is racist for them to have assumed this.

What that tells me is the Obama has given up on winning the white independent vote in 2012. He's going to do everything in his power from now until election day to stoke racial tension, hoping to win with a massive black/hispanic turnout plus the 30% "core" white liberal vote. Never thought I'd see the day where a sitting president would risk a full blown race war to further his political goals.

Based on what I witnessed at an after-school program in east L.A. firsthand, the newer mex-am generation are all for it. But my mex neighbors (mostly parents) whom I know personally are disgusted by it.

I work with seven LEGAL Hispanics and not one supports him. One even printed several pictures of the won and took them to his private pistol range. He brought his "targets" to work the following week. I told him to make those disappear.

There have been few polls taken of legal Hispanics, but every one that I'm aware of says that this group is profoundly against amnesty of any kind.
And why not? It's only common sense. Ethnicity alone doesn't trump nationality, cultural values and economic self-interest.
A strong stance against amnesty will gain Republicans votes in the legal Hispanic community.
