Better start patrolling your own threads. Palin is under attack and it's exposing her as a fraud.

Well, I’m a Texan, and I’ve followed Perry for 14 or so years, and for what it’s worth, I’ll say Perry is indeed more Texan than Bush. Also, Perry is NOT really a RINO in the way it is generally defined... but neither is he ‘innately’ conservative, I’m sorry to say. He’s very much... a politician.

For the past two months, whenever I brought up the subject of Perry running for president with all my GOP-voting friends here in Texas, a rolling of the eyes was by far the most common reaction. No, they don’t ‘hate’ Perry, not at all. And they preferred him over the KBailey/Bush/Rove crowd, unquestionably. And I’m sure they would support him in a split-second over Romney. But color them unenthused. Whether it was the Trans-TX Corridor or the weakness on border issues or whatever, there’s always something that Perry did that grates on them, and leaves them rather indifferent towards him.

Rick Perry as Perry the Platypus and Obama as the Evil but incompetent Dr. Doofenshmirtz actually works.

yes. Do not follow Roy Beck’s lead on Smith’s E-Verify bill however. It’s a trap. Will give all powers of immigration enforcement to FEDS. 2196 must be killed. Beck is nuts on this one. Hearing FAIR is backing this BS too.

I like Sarah Palin very much. The GOP needs her. She won us the victories in 2010. There's no issue I disagree with her about (except her Libya stance). But if she did win and got the nomination, I would NOT have to hold my nose to vote in 2012 like I did in 2008. That's a good think for the GOP and America.

I would LOVE to see her debate RINO Romney.

Quoting a Libertarian magazine complaining that Perry didn’t break Texas away from Medicaid (which he said he might want “someday”) is...... not a very strong argument.

I want a T-shirt with a picture of Perry the Platypus on it that says "Perry for President."

Disney couldn't even get all pissy about it.... :-)

Don’t you think that will split the primary vote and hand it to someone else, like Romney. And also, I highly doubt Palin will jump into the race.

Have you seen the movie yet?

Doofenshmirtz, “I never invented an amnesia machine. I would know if I invented an amnesia machine!”

Seems like the Pipes were somehow connected to the Hinckley / Soole which is how George Bush and Obama are actually distant cousins and we both know how the Bushies and the Obamas dislike Rick Perry.

I doubt it. Perry and Palin can each raise enough funds to outlast Romney to the conversion. By 1/2 way through, it will be obvious who the conservative choice is and we can expect the other one to bow out. It’s more of a contest to see who Romney will lose to.

If Palin can avoid getting in the mud with the pigs (read as the press), I’m all for her. If she says something dumb or starts getting that deer in the headlights look in the eye then Perry (from what I know now) is a good second choice.

Personally, I don’t like any editorial from any New York Magazine, except the Wall Street Journal. Anyway, I think we all need to step back and stop the Bush-bashing. Bush was an exceptional social conservative, and had was the war-hawk that we needed following 9-11. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be facing a national debt crisis, as much as a World War 3 Arab league vs United States, Europe completely wiped out scenario. Give Bush mixed marks on immigration, but he did increase the boarder guard, funded a fence program that could have worked (until Obama cut that), and thus cut illegal immigration by half. On the fiscal front, we was definitely a spender, but we wasn’t a taxer, and we should give him credit for that. All in all, Bush was one the greatest post-Depression presidents we’ve had. I’d put him right behind Reagan, honestly. Perry, if he sticks to his guns (literally and figuratively), will also be a great president, and he is the obvious choice for republican nominee, seeing that neither Cain, nor Santorum will come close to winning against Romney. I will proudly vote for Perry in the primary, and vote for him in the general election against Obama.
