Trying to get my happy go lucky 25 year old daughter in NYC to take it seriously ... really getting on my nerves. I hope she survives it ok. She doesn’t think anything bad will EVER happen to her.
Good luck with that one!
Had that several years ago when daughter was going to evacuate Corpus and go to her brother’s up the country. Storm changed directions and was headed much further north. Sil called and asked if I’d please call her and try to explain the storm was going more his way than ours.
It took a while, but I finally got the point across.
Where is she in NYC? Is she in lower Manhattan (it’s called LOW for a reason!) or along the beaches of Brooklyn and Queens? Otherwise, she’ll probably be OK. We had a brief discussion whether to evacuate to our apartment in Murray Hill but have been told by the police that we are in such high ground that we shouldn’t worry. So we’re staying put for now.
Try not to get too upset!
I know what you mean. I had a young daughter there during 9-11. That added some gray hairs to my head. Seriously, she needs to get where she’s going by tomorrow morning because I think I just heard on Fox News that they are shutting down the subway and train system at noon Saturday and won’t open till Monday after rush hour, if I heard correctly.
Please see my post #1123...
My friend ( in her forties!) that flew to NYC this morning with her 21 yr old dtr has the same attitude as your daughter.
I hope we get posts from NYC as to how it is going up there...although that’s the home of Fox news and I am sure Whoreraldo will let us know what’s going on..that is after he yammers on about his boat, his collection of miltary gifts he’s protecting..yeesh.
My thoughts are with your daughter.
