You might want to look up the video floating around when Todd was confronted about why she left office and then went the celebrity route. It was all about the money not just the pure principle of saving Alaska money. His response was “What would you do?”
If by some quirk she did get the nomination, Rats would absolutely destroy her over her resignation. It would simply be too easy a target. I haven’t really heard her say that much about her resignation either, nothing.
Yes, he could be, no doubt.
You mean Palin’s decision to resign was based not only on saving money and resources for Alaskan taxpayers but also on the need to avoid personal bankruptcy?
You’re too kind.
She has consistently polled losing to 0bama by double digits.
This election is critical for those who don’t get it. If 0bama wins we are finished being a constitutional republic. He will turn us into a communist hellhole.
I think Perry would be happy if he didn't touch Palin's numbers as they are today.
No RINOs. No more tired old Establishment men like Dole, McCain, Thompson, who don't have the energy and enthusiasm to excite people about them. I'd like Palin, but she needs to make her decision soon.
Did she have to go and do the reality tv schtick? Other pols have resigned and simply gone on to other things that was related to governing and gaining critical executive experience. Inexperience isn’t going to cut it after the catastrophic 0bama administration. She was not able to withstand the pressure of the democratic machine as a state governor. What can we expect of her as the POTUS when she has to deal with real enemies? .
I don’t begrudge the decision to cash in but it doesn’t mean it qualifies her to be the POTUS.
When it comes to calling out Obama, Governor Palin is the champion.
I don’t see a 3 term governor of the second largest state with the world’s 15th largest economy playing second fiddle to a half term governor of a state with a population of 710,000. Reverse the order maybe.
The ultimate question, or test, of a good candidate as I have explained in this thread can be put in a different way:
The Ruling Class know which of the contenders can be rolled. And they know who will put up a fight. Signs point to the fact that they fear Palin the most.
This is the ultimate test. There’s no way the left can cheat on this test to make their guy look better than Palin, because their efforts are visible.
Calling him out on facebook and twitter isn’t the same thing as fighting him as a sitting governor. You do know that he’s been fighting the 0bama administration over the job killing EPA regs, the offshore drilling moratorium, the lack of securing the border, 0bamacare, etc.
I might add that he isn’t the only governor fighting the battle with the 0bama administration but he’s the one running for POTUS.
You are mistaken.
That is doing something that there is no need to do. Just quietly go about your business and let people assume your values...that would be the no risk, the easy thing.
He wrote an entire book on nothing but the subject.
He most certainly did declassify himself as some kind of a moderate or RINO by doing that. RINOS and Moderates do no such thing. Write books emphasizing that the Boy Scouts are right for excluding gays. They most certainly do not do those sorts of things.
You did not say, it had to be about something that was risky among Republicans.
You said to stand for something that would put himself at risk, just because it was right.
Just now, you made it up out of whole cloth that it had to put himself at risk among Republicans.
But even in your dishonesty, a point is still valid, which is, he went out on a limb and called attention to something that the insiders both Democrat and Republicans despise, the culture war and which side of it he is on.
The mainline Methodists, and he is a Methodist albeit evangelical (Tom Landry was one of the few of those there are) cringe when you start getting into stuff like that. Within their own group they have advanced the pc and the gay agenda.
Rush Limbaugh has repeatedly said that the insider power players utterly despise people like Rick Perry for making those things so publicly clear.
He is constantly non politically correct in an increasingly politically correct world. The insider crowd absolutely despises the Rick Perrys of this culture. Rick Perry has put himself clearly at odds with them. Not by one incident only, but by many such as a way of life.
I think you are dishonest in your quest. I won’t waste another second on you.
Here’s the bottom line. Argue with Sarah Palin over Rick Perry.
In her official endorsement letter of his re-election campaign she said of him, “He walks the walk of a true conservative”.
No, I won’t link you to it. Waste of time. But it can be easily found by googling.
You swear by her. She said that about him and she has never taken it back.
The left beat her using her own ethics law in forcing her to resign. She was rolled and in a big way.
Palin chose to do what benefitted Alaska as well as her family. The vast majority of politicicans in such a position would have held on to their power at the expense of their state, and taken out loans to cover their own expenses. Palin took the hard road, the road with no guarantees.
Can “real enemies” tie her hands with ethics charges after she is elected President? Take a look at the office of the President. The answer is no.
Geez what a moronic statement...
Gov. Perry’s latest book (published Nov. 2010), “Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America from Washington” has some choice words about people/legislation/attitudes on both sides, so I expect he has made everyone in Washington mad by his plain speaking.
I believe he has rightly discerned that Americans are ready to abandon the p.c. garbage and want to hear from someone who is not afraid to tell it like it is.
Some assistance in clarifying, may I provide?
To stand up for the Boy Scouts, as a Republican, is not a risk. Democrats will oppose you and Republicans will support you, it’s that simple.
Same thing as supporting tax cuts. Democrats will oppose you and Republicans will support you. There’s no risk involved, unless you’re a Democrat.
I will never pick my candidates based on Rush Limbaugh’s opinion, and I will never assume Rush Limbaugh provides the absolute, ultimate truth about insider power players. Limbaugh is good to listen to sometimes, but what he says cannot change a candidate’s record.
