Tried In-n-Out in Anaheim and have to say, still like Whataburger more... something too about deep-fried apple pies... anyway, I do hope they open a few In-n-Outs in San Antonio. They have Five Guys now as well here which is OK. The local places here are still better (Bobby J’s, Chris Madrid, Texas Hamburger Company). I like variety and having an In-n-Out here would be good for sure. Just not as jazzed about it as West Coasters.

Fully understand. Everybody has different tastes. However, one cannot argue with the quality of IN N OUT because to my knowledge, not a single other fast food burger adheres to the rules they do, including “cattle to customer” in 5 days. Sponge dough buns, (simple too), “kennebec” potatoes in vegetable oil, (yes, I think their fries are the highest quality even if some taste better, it’s about quality too), I believe their spread is the best I have ever had, the freshest produce, they set the highest standards right down to the nerds they hire....(no tatoos, no long hair, no earrings on the bloke making your burger, etc).....they never get the order wrong, they are the nicest most courteous employees you will find anywhere....they have not changed their menu except for adding 7 up and replacing pepsi with coke, in over 60 years......and they put Bible texts on their cups and wrappers and as my Mom noticed just the other day....they even stack their burgers perfectly.....

They pay their employees more than minimum wage, managers make in excess of $100,000 a year, and must have started from the ground up and they have an “all star” team that opens every new location, they travel and make sure the quality is uncompromised.....

Simply, there is nothing to match them from taste to quality to service.....in my humble opinion. There was a book written about them and it was on the New York Times Best Seller list....and I read it a few months ago and it explains all this....just a great American Story. Even if the family that started IN N OUT are all dead, 2 sons tragically......IN N OUT is now owned by a single blood surviving young woman, Linsi Martinez and yes.....she’s a very wealthy young woman but she is also a Christian who helps feed children around the world. She flew out for the grand opening in Texas and met with all new employees who fell in love with her......They said she treated them like family.
