Speaker John Boehner has rejected Obama’s request to address a joint session of Congress on September 7th to discuss his jobs plan. Boehner has asked that Obama consider the following night instead.
According to Politico, Boehner said in a letter to Obama that Sept. 8th would be better “so we can ensure there will be no parliamentary or logistical impediments that might detract from your remarks.”
It is important to note that on September 7, the GOP Presidential candidates will have a debate that is sponsored by NBC and Politico that will air on MSNBC. NBC and Politico announced earlier today that they would air the debate and not show the address to Congress.
What??? MSNBC was going to snub their Messiah?? I don’t find that credible.

The night before would have been better. The candidates could have added their own rebuttals to Øbama’s plans to the debate.
Still, kudos to the Speaker.
To be honest, I don’t see how Boehner could have chosen any other path. You don’t screw over your own people and party for the Opposition.

Don’t cave Boehner... there is no way they will accept Thursday night, obummer knows he can’t go up against a football game. Two things will happen, Boehmer caves, obummer changes it to a night when he won’t have to compete with football. I never watch oblahblah anyway and I do not think I am the only one that never watches him, but for the few that can’t resist watching him if nothing else is on, he will lose them also to the football game.
Now he’s caught between a rock and a hard place and he looks like an idiot, unless crybaby caves. If Boehner caves, the Republicans should refuse to move the date of the debate and tell MSNBC to stuff it and go elsewhere.
