Boehner tells spineless Obama to take a hike
Kansas City . Com ^ | Yael T. Abouhalkah

Once again, President Barack Obama has looked politically spineless and clueless in backing down to House Speaker John Boehner.

For giddy Republicans, things couldn’t get any better.

For depressed Democrats, things could hardly be worse.

After Boehner taught Obama a lesson or two during the debt ceiling fiasco (“Read my lips, no new taxes, Mr. President”), the speaker basically told the president Wednesday he couldn’t talk to a joint meeting of Congress next week.

And Obama meekly agreed to postpone the speech to the next night.

This is the kind of meeting that should have been worked out in private, then publicly announced.

Instead, it appears a lazy White House thought it could get what it wanted - against all odds - from Boehner and the House.

Obama appears more inconsequential each day. Obama is not capable of change nor can he even accept the fact that his fairy tale utopia he spent his whole life promoting does not work in real life.

The real world is not a classroom Mr. President. I think the American people have lost any HOPE that you will CHANGE.

It must be devastating for a narcissist. Too bad it’s devastating for us!

Ever think you’d live to see the Presidency reduced to an unwelcome warm-up act for the NFL?

"White House thought it could get what it wanted

And who could blame them? They have so far. Gun Walker, payoffs to contributors, raids of opponents businesses, war without congressional approval, executive orders that ciolate the law and Constitution, every lie picked up msm as fact, zero ID documents, no traceable history, shoddy real estate deals ...

Obama appears more inconsequential each day.

I agree. There have been a lot of fumbles lately and I don't think Obama is calling his own shots. I've thought for a long time Obama was run for president by others. Obama is a figure, someone who gives good speech. So what this means is that those in the Administration in charge of things are making poor decisions.

Someone who keeps herself out of the news is Valerie Jarrett. She is a senior advisor and assistant in charge of Public Engagement and intergovernmental affairs. Valerie doesn't strike me as someone who has her fingers on the pulse of the true realities of things like the start of the NFL season (for example). So that, she would probably schedule the 'big' jobs speech perhaps completely unaware of the start of the NFL season or the perception that Mr. Average American will not tune in. This is just a rambling thought.

But whoever is pulling Obama's strings is not doing a good job at the time. I even wonder if Obama is aware that he is being handled poorly.

Jarrett has this envisioned as Moses coming down from the mountain instead of a bewildered and ineffectual frontman returning from a Vinyard hideaway. The rest of the world didn’t get her script.

This will be a flop-sweat speech that will seal his legacy.

Boehner’s “courage” is a little late. Reminds me of the family weiner dog who was so brave he barked at the mailman underneith the car.

Obama planned this perfectly. He gets to speak in front of the larger football audience while advancing the campaign narrative that he’s the victim of the racist bulling tea party and their unprecedented slap downs. Boehner did nothing courageous, he had to say no for simple logistical reasons.
