There are a few vocal anti-Perry Texans who post here frequently and I am sure Perry has upset a few powerful people during his long tenure as Governor.
This is a good endorsement from an insider and it reinforces my opinion that Perry is not perfect but he might be the perfect man for the job. I am still waiting to see what Palin does but at this point I could enthusiastically support Perry for President. I really hope Cain lands in the next administration in a capacity that will allow him to shine because I have been very impressed with him too.
I like our chances to not only defeat Obama but roll back his progressive agenda with Perry.
I dunno, I’m looking at past Congressional and Presidential history and I won’t hold my breath.
What has been repealed in America - ever ?
Only a President with the same level of audacity of Obama but the opposite principles, combined with a bunch of “main street” part-time amateur citizen politicians with a majority in both houses of Congress would “roll back” very much, IMHO.
Which hopefully we’ll get in 2012.
I guess that makes me an optimistic pessimist or vicy-versy.
Perry is much better for America than Obama. Period. (So, for that matter, is Romney. I hope we do better than Romney, but I'll get behind Mittens if I absolutely have to.)
That is the only argument we have to make. We don't have to sell Perry as "Mr. Wonderful" because we already have Mr. Ghastly-Awful in the WH.
When people point out Perry's imperfections, learn to *shrug*--"Yeah, well, tell me how wonderful Obama is before you tell me about how you hate on Goodhair." That'll shut a lib up real fast. All he'll have left is to cause you racist because you won't vote for his Pretty Princess President.
