Bush ran on privatizing part of Social Security. It's not the fatal issue that pundits make it out to be. As for global warming, the issue isn't science, but jobs. All Perry has to say is that we need jobs and industry, not more crippling environmental regulations that have destroyed our competitiveness and driven millions of jobs overseas. All true.

I still don't see how a pro abortion, anti gun Northeast liberal like Romney has a chance. This is the Republican primary we're talking about here.

You’re exactly right.

REGULATIONS are killing the economy and the Left lives to tie them around and around and around us.

The issue can now be safely framed as “If we do nothing, Social Security and those who depend on it most are DOOMED. I propose a responsible fix that won’t affect those who are already depending on Social Security, except to make it strong and reliable for their future.”

Successful program. Wish Rick had mentioned it - but he has had a few other things on his plate this past week in addition to campaigning, like running a state and major forest fires.

Exactly. Perry is not losing sight of the fact that for now he has to win the Republican primary, there will be plenty of time to run against Obama later. Hilary took the primary for granted and we all know how that turned out. It's true Perry can also run against Obama during the primary but his No. 1 objective right now is beating Romney and he will do that because he is far more conservative than Romney.

We have to provide incentives to keep capital here.
