PEORIA — Ryder has canceled all truck rentals for the coming week due to credible but unconfirmed threats of terrorist attacks in the wake of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
A customer who did not want to be identified told the Journal Star that she had been informed by Ryder of the cancellation by phone call Friday. A Ryder representative told the Journal Star all local rentals for the weekend had been canceled, though that person declined to elaborate on the reason.
Further questions were referred to the head of rentals for the local arm of the company. That person did not immediately return a request for an interview.
The customer was told by a Ryder representative in Peoria that the president of the company had decided to stop all truck rentals this week in the wake of the threats of terrorist attacks on the East Coast.
U.S. officials said Thursday they were investigating a credible but unconfirmed threat of a car bomb that may be used to target bridges or tunnels in New York City or Washington, D.C.
Neither U-Haul or Budget Truck Rental have any plans at this time to discontinue rentals in the area over the weekend, according to Peoria-area representatives reached by phone Friday afternoon.

Although many haven't been here long, they have constant contact with people in 2-3 cities where known terror cells are.
They wear their turbans and sandals and whip out the prayer rugs at fuel stops - AND get their big rig licenses.
YOu can drive straight across Hoover Damn, bridges everywhere, easily though a guard shack into oil refineries/reservoirs, buildings - get the picture?
It wouldn't take many, in coordination, to wreck havoc across the country.
Pray there isn't a 'Fast & Furious' scheme in play regarding trucks or something similar that would then 'require' Martial Law.

I just posted pictures of two muslims who are quite white. Your myopic rambling aside, you still haven’t answered my question.
Muslim isn’t a race. So how do you determine if a person is a muslim or not? Also, how do you handle the fact that a lot of people who look similar to the 9-11 hijackers are NOT muslim?

I posted a link to pictures of all the hijackers. No “white people” among them. I understand muslims come in all flavors but the hijackers were obviously mid-eastern. Surely you could deduce that from looking at them. But if you feel comfortable flying with them, good for you. I wouldn’t.

You miss the point. There are white muslims. There are white muslim terrorists. Trying to say only Arabs are terrorists allows terrorist groups to use their white foot soldiers to accomplish their goals.

No, we are talking about NOW. You said, “don’t rent to muslims”. I asked how you tell what a muslim looks like. You posted a picture of the 9-11 hijackers, and I pointed out to you that it is irrelevant, because there are muslims of non-arabic descent.
You keep saying “the hijackers were all mid-eastern muslims and they looked like it”, that’s fine, but it is also quite irrelevant, especially since terrorist groups have been specifically recruiting White looking muslims to act as foot soldiers.
You see, REAL profiling doesn’t focus on any one factor, but MANY factors, race and ethnicity being only one facet. Contrary to what your blogs told you, profiling does go on today, it just isn’t advertised.
Race and ethnicity is a valid factor in a comprehensive profile, but it is utterly absurd to make that the only factor, lest your enemy simply switch the race of the foot soldier.
