Not really- I think the terrorists would have started killing people one by one until “someone” allowed access to the cock-pit. In the Flight 93 movie, they take one of the airplane workers hostage, knife to her throat and tell her to knock on the door; the co-pilot gets up and opens the door...and we all know what happened after that..
Perhaps had we allowed air Marshalls w/guns; and pilots w/guns in cockpit prior to 9/11, outcome might have been different.
There is a simple explanation for this liberal madness.
The typical liberal leads a Walter Mitty fantasy life. In their dreams, they see themselves as valiant fighters for peace and justice and equality and science and rational thought and humanism, while their enemies are all Nazis and evil corporate toadies and homophobes and creationists and religious fundamentalist hillbilly imbeciles.
In fact, reality is completely upside down from their fantasies. Typical liberals are over-educated but under-learned, childish, emotion-driven, intellectually-constipated know-nothings whose faith in magical thinking is unconstrained by reality, truth, or the laws of physics.
I think there were limited numbers of air marshals onboard planes since the 70’s.
Beyond that, agents used to fly armed through the 80’s until the FAA decided to cut back on that. Still, even armed, they were told to take no action in almost all situations because letting rounds loose on a plane at 39K feet can have devastating affects on the fusulage. Tough call though but if the doors had been very secure with instructions they not be opened in flight, things may have been different, we will never know.
