In the Flight 93 movie, they take one of the airplane workers hostage, knife to her throat and tell her to knock on the door; the co-pilot gets up and opens the door...and we all know what happened after that..
Perhaps had we allowed air Marshalls w/guns; and pilots w/guns in cockpit prior to 9/11, outcome might have been different.
