NAIROBI, Kenya - Armed men killed a British man and kidnapped his wife from a beach resort in northern Kenya near the border with lawless Somalia, officials in the East African nation said Sunday.
Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere said Sunday that the couple arrived at the resort Saturday after visiting Kenya's Masai Mara reserve. He said they were the resort's only guests.

A Kenyan security official said a policeman arrived at the scene and saw six men carrying away the woman. He didn't shoot out of fear she could be hurt.

so, Obama’s relatives are kidnapping tourists? the ones that are not in the US illegally that is.
what travel agent would tell someone “yeah Kenya is quite nice this time of year”.
I wouldnt book any trips to that cesspool.
It is likely that she’s probably very hurting.
mau mau
You either avoid rabid animals or you put them down.
The return of the Mau Maus.
Think they could have gotten some helpful shots off here. Sounds too passive, IMHO.
six men carrying away the woman
Helpful shots might have saved her
. . .or rather, ‘HE’ i.e. the lone policeman. Even that seems pathetic. Cannot imagine the grim reality this woman, now enduring.
Ain’t the 3rd world wonderful????
A fate worst than death ?
Our open borders and the Obama amnesty is bringing the third world here by the millions.
Bed bugs , too
This couple is no smarter than the college students who decided that Iran is a wonderful place to go hiking.
I still have co-workers who make fun of me for not wanting to vacation in Mexico. Fine. I’ll feel bad when they come back in a box.
Wow, a "High Commission" ....that will scare the crap out of the kidnappers...
You’re right; as bad as some parts of our cities might be, you give up a lot of legal protections when you leave this country (one of them being the right to bear arms).
Why anyone believes some parts of the world are safe, despite a lot of visible evidence that they are not, is mystifying.
They think their wealth, status, and/or “power” will protect them.

Same here. What was this couple thinking.
From the piece: A statement posted on the Foreign Office travel advice website said: “We continue to advise against all but essential travel to within 30 kilometres of Kenya’s border with Somalia. There have been previous attacks by Somali militia into Kenya.
. . . am trying to remember how those two nuns were treated. Can only say, at this point, that we can hope not. But, it does seem, a 'hollow hope'.
That said, the whole thing, is really, pathetically outrageous.
Unlikely to be the Mau Mau, the part of Kenya where they were kidnapped is close to the border with Somalia.
Kenya admits tens of thousands of tourists from the West every year and kidnapping of tourists is rare.
