With approximately 85 hours remaining before contracts between the United Auto Workers union and Detroits Big Three expire, UAW members can expect a substantially higher signing bonus than in years past, according to reports. But, just how high the bonuses will be remains under speculation. Sept. 10, the Detroit News:
Reports that it could be as high as $10,000, which is about three times what union members received for ratifying the last national contract in 2007 are being described as too high.

Time to launch a national boycott of union products. As happy as I have been with my Fords, my next cars will be built in Hyundai’s Alabama nonunion factories. Is there a list of Tea Party friendly products and manufacturers?
Who else outside of Ford makes something like an E series van ?
Besides GM, Mercedes has the Sprinter. That’s all I can think of.
