Those kids didn't break the laws. Their parents did. And their parents broke the law because the Federal Government has refused to enforce it.
What do you propose we do with these kids after they graduate from High School having never lived a minute in another country? Deport them to a country they have never known?
I'm sorry but my Christianity compels me to have some semblance of mercey, especially on the innocent.
BTW I dare say that none of the current crop of candidates would say that these children who were brought here through no fault of their own should be treated as criminals. Not Perry, Not Palin, not anybody.

So, you would be okay if your child was denied admission to the school of their dreams because these kids are taking up the slots? BTW - they will also get in on relaxed admission standards for the sake of "diversity." That is just not right no matter how you cut it. You wonder why these kids should be "treated like criminals" -- what about OUR kids who might not be even getting into these schools because we tolerate this?

If my kids didn't earn a spot and were beat out by other students for the slots, then no, I could care less. If these children of illegal aliens scored higher on the SAT's and had better grades than my kids, then they deserve the spots and my kids should have worked harder and studied more.

I have no animosity to kids who were dragged here by their parents. They broke no laws. And if they studied hard and got better grades than anyone else, they should not be punished for the sins of their parents.

If you think your kids should get a break because they weren't smart enough to get a higher SAT than some illegal alien, then maybe they need to go to junior college and retake all the classes they flunked in High School.

First of all, this is not about winning slots in school, it is about in-state tuition rates. There isn’t a specific number of slots for “in-state tuition”, so the issue there is simply whether children of illegal immigrants should be allowed to go to college at all.
