I haven't followed what Turner has been saying, but people are just going to have to face the fact that the kind of conservative Republicans we like just can't compete in some districts throughout the country. Had he been a real conservative, he probably wouldn't have gotten the endorsements he needed from people like Koch to even keep this competitive. A win in a race like this helps develop the narrative that Obama is an anvil around the necks of Democrats and loser on the campaign trail. What Turner does during his short time in office is almost irrelevant.
Exactly. In any case he will be redistricted out of a job in 2012. The important thing is the devastating and unspinnable blow that Obama and the Dems will take.
