Proclamation Appointing a National Fast Day
Washington, D.C.
March 30, 1863

Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do, by this my proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th. day of April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting and prayer. And I do hereby request all the People to abstain, on that day, from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion. All this being done, in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings, no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering Country, to its former happy condition of unity and peace.

Yeah right, His people are better than He is and won't have to suffer. You can plan all you want, you'll be long gone before the Tribulation ever starts.

God tends to bring things back to His natural plan. Progressives have tried to take us away from His plan and, naturally, it doesn’t work.
We are looking forward to a great pruning.

Let's just say, I am God's people because I have been "adopted" in or grafted into the Root. The Jews are my family now.
Second, the Temple today is my body and God lives in me. He has sanctified this house and will hear the prayers made in "this house".
The Old Testament is the physical reality of history that told the story of things to come. The New Testament changed NOTHING, except the fulfillment of the promises made in the OT. Remember Jesus said He didn't come to change the Law, but to fulfill it. The Grace of Jesus was that He agreed to pay our sin price, but the price still had to be paid. If Psalms speaks of Christ on the cross through David, then Genesis speaks of things to come that are today, reality. In the NT, Sodom and Gomorrah are mentioned and the "time of Noah, and many other references are made to the OT.
Verse 19-22 speaks of the house(my body or temple), and the land given to them.
The Bible speaks of God's character. What was true then is true today because He is unchanging. America is just a chunk of land, but it was given by God to us. The Bible doesn't have to call it by name. If you lived in Mexico and they had revival, would they not be blessed? As we turn from God, we all suffer. That is an ageless principle.
Are we still killing babies?
