The United States should find a way to let long-time resident illegal immigrants stay in the U.S. and their children follow a path toward citizenship, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Wednesday in Orlando.

Just say no to chain migration.
Incredible . . . is he that much of a political whore to start this crap? Illegal is illegal no matter how you put it.
The ones in jail need to go NOW. The others can stay if they come forward and go through the immigration process. The ones who don’t come forward after a certain point in time, should be exported.
I say some of the young ones, Say the 18-25 year old very pretty illegal females can stay.
The rest Screw.
Hey Newton! Define long-time! 24 hours? 48 hours? 72 hours? In case you haven’t heard the news the past few days, “poverty” is skyrocketing in America! We might want to knock off the bull**** poverty imports! Let Mexico deal with their poverty for a while. America needs a break! As for the “long-timers”. They aren’t here to go down any goofy “path to citizenship”. If they were, that flag license plate on the front of their cars would have the AMERICAN flag on it.
Uh, do you mean YOUR gardener, Newt?
Absolutely....We need some common sense here.
The illegals can stay if they’ve been here a long time? No!
What happened to the idea that one shouldn’t be able to benefit from committing a crime?
if you enjoy paying for the free pregnancy care and delivery,
vaccines, car seats, education, etc. they and their children
receive.
I agree, but unfortunately emotion often clouds people's ability to think rationally.
Gingrich, will be another, Obama Perry with case by case study with work permits and amnesty ,dream act, it never ends....
They used common sense in 1986 and gave a one-time amnesty to clean up the mess and prevent it from happening again.
It's no longer common sense to reward lawbreakers.
Well, I’m not against legal immigration (read the base of the Statue of Liberty). That’s why America is here. That’s not a political issue, that’s a freedom issue. I’m against ILLEGAL immigration.
or his next new Mistress ?? He famously dumped wife #1 for wife #2
The Overton Window in action. Morons will accept anything a little at a time.
You support amnesty.
Any legislation that legalizes the status of those who broke our laws by entering our country illegally and allows them to stay is amnesty. We must not only prevent the Democrats and some moderate Republicans from hijacking the meaning of the word amnesty, but the public must be made aware about the true impact of an amnesty. The Heritage Foundation concluded that the cost of amnesty alone would be $2.6 trillion. And the number of additional LEGAL immigrants who would join those who were the recipients of amnesty through chain migration, i.e., family reunification, would approach 70 million over a 20-year period, assuming there are only 12 million illegal aliens. We cannot assimilate such numbers. An amnesty would destroy the United States of America with the stroke of a pen.
The impact of an amnesty should be the number one issue on the Republicans education agenda. Most polls show that Americans are solidly against amnesty, but a small plurality favors some sort of legalization. In an April 2009 Rasmussen poll of likely voters, in response to the question, How important is it for the government to legalize the status of illegal aliens already in the United States?, 23% deemed it very important and 25% somewhat important while 23% said it was not at all important and 22% said it was not very important.
FYI, what I’m talking about isn’t “amnesty.” It’s requiring these people to jump through the same hoops anyone wanting to immigrate jumps through. If they pass they stay, if not they go.
