Bachmann is in hot water because she relayed a story about an anonymous young woman crying because, as she claimed, her daughter had been mentally retarded as a result of taking the HPV vaccination. Perry relayed a story about an anonymous young woman dying from cervical cancer we are left to assume was linked to one of the HPV strains addressed by the vaccine, and that she herself had not been vaccinated (women vaccinated after exposure to HPV actually increase their risk of cervical cancer). Hypocrisy? You decide. The incidents of cervical cancer dropped 74% between 1955 and 1992 -- long before Gardasil -- and have continued to decline 4% annually since (Examining the FDA's HPV Vaccine Records). All the while the rates of HPV exposure were consistently on the rise. Bachmann's error was on the side of caution regarding a vaccine that may have "very dangerous consequences" for your children. Perry would happily 'big government' a vaccination on your child again despite the known risks -- he'd just do it through the legislature instead of by executive order. In the end, which one would you prefer looking out for your children?

The young woman is not anonymous. She fought for years for young girls to get this vaccine. After all the lies about Perry involvement, her family spoke out with the TRUTH and PICTURES. It even included an interview of her speaking about the need for the vaccine.
So stop spreading unsubstatiated claims.

The young women is DEAD but her family is not. And for the RECORD it was HPV tha caused her Cervical Cancer.

Bachmann is dead in the water. No amount of rowing is going to get that engine running again.

HPV vaccine only protects one kind of virus, there are several that cause cervical cancer. There HAVE been deaths and serious injuries attributed to this vaccine. There are acceptable risks with all vaccines,

The article I read yesterday from ABC News specifically stated Heather's own words, "I beg mothers out there to please research, please find out all you can about the vaccination before you make up your mind." She is right, and she certainly stated nothing about the vaccination being mandated.

I'm sure everyone feels terrible that this young woman died in the prime of her life of such a terrible disease. But the problem here was certainly not about whether a vaccination would have saved her, but more about her being "misdiagnosed."

Dear Dr. Burton:

On behalf of the thousands of parents who have either lost their perfectly healthy teenage daughters, or been left to endure the physical/mental/emotional and financial hardship of being forced to deal with the permanent disabling effects of Gardasil® vaccination, SANE Vax Inc. is offended by the thoughtless, ignorant and offensive press release issued from the office of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) on September 13, 2011.

The press release criticizes the comment made by Republican presidential candidate, Michele Bachmann regarding Gardasil® side effects as ‘false statements’; and instead stated authoritatively ‘…it (Gardasil®) has an excellent safety record.’

Are you still practicing pediatrics? Physicians in the U.S. look to the AAP for guidelines yet the AAP seems to be oblivious to the latest Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. VAERS statistics clearly show that HPV Vaccines, Gardasil and Cervarix, have been associated with 22, 619 adverse reactions; 8,926 of those reports requiring emergency hospitalization; and 4,616 cases where the victim did not recover. Death reports stand at 102.
