RAMALLAH — A United States proposal aimed at convincing Palestinians to withdraw their statehood bid at the United Nations and return to the negotiations table was the "last straw," and convinced Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that appealing to the Security Council was the best option, Fatah official Nabil Shaath told reporters in Ramallah.

According to Shaath, the American proposal, which was delivered at the last minute by US envoys David Hale and Dennis Ross, did not mention a moratorium on settlement construction or the status of existing settlements.

I really wish I could muster up some sympathy for the Palestinians. But I can’t.

Maybe they are being useful pawns by the rest of the middle east.

The fact remains..they have had plenty of time, concessions and boatloads of money to establish themselves as a viable state.

It hasn’t happened..it never will.

A United States proposal aimed at convincing Palestinians to withdraw their statehood bid

Hillary Clinton is a horrible SOS. Her popularity in a recent poll is due entirely to people's perception of her as a 'survivor' or something, because it certainly can't be based on any accomplishment.

Well, we will find out how badly the UN countries desire a world war over Israel.

It is only a matter of time, really. The Arabs have only bided their time until they thought that they had some sort of advantage.

Obama really screwed the pooch on this one. Hillary too. For 15 years the two sides negotiated. Yes it was not in good faith but some progress was made. Then Obama, who knows better than the Almighty Himself, told Israel to stop building in Jerusalem. That had never been a precondition to talks, ever. But once Obama and Hillary said that, the Palestinians could not ask for anything less. Obama became more Palestinian than the Palestinians, and here we are.

It’s time for the US to step out of the negotiations and when Bambi is out of office because it won’t happen with him in it, the US should say if the Arabs attack Israel, we will not hold them back this time and Israel is free to conquer the Arabs by whatever means necessary. This will end the Muslim war against civilization one way or another.

Abbas is on the short list of those to whom Obambi has NOT bowed yet.
That will end this week.

“President Obama’s first call ‘was to President Abbas’”
Tom Baldwin in Washington

“The spokesman for President Abbas revealed that Mr Obama had told the Palestinian leader that their conversation was his first with a foreign statesman since taking office. Mr Obama also spoke to President Mubarak of Egypt, Ehud Olmert, the Israeli Prime Minister, and King Abdullah of Jordan.”
