I agree with the light rail comments, I really wonder who gets the kickbacks from the light rail projects, as they always add billions more to any project, they have onerous upkeep costs and crime problems and they don’t employ that many more workers on a project. The money just flows into a huge black hole for little quantifiable gain.
I have written to the CRC commission, the Mayor of Vancouver, my state and national reps and the Governor, and all seem to not care or are all for this huge waste of money.
Do light rail construction companies just lobby well or what?
Clark County cannot afford the upkeep of the rail line, cannot gaurantee safety of the riders and no vote will be held by the county as we have voted down light rail twice in the past. We have no representation in government here apparantly.
Leavitt’s out in 2012? He’s talking about challenging Herrera, so he knows he’s toast.
