You are correct about the delivery and the effect - but you can’t say that around some folks - because, well, since George has gone off to the dark side a bit (and I admit he has) - you are now never allowed to like anything he ever does or says or writes ever again.

I think Will "went to the dark side" simply to keep his job.

After the 2008 election, anyone in media who wanted to keep working had to join the "Obama Messiah" parade.

Anyone who didn't own his own program, that is.

There is always a chance George could change and get actually smart again like he was at the beginning. In fact, maybe that is what is happening.

However, I will never forgive him for his criticism of George HW Bush which helped the Criminal Clintons into the White House.

Absolutely correct. The Dems must keep the Black Vote and yet they must lose Obama.

Introducing another Black Guy isn't going to do it, for the same reason that a Bush relative didn't run in 2008.

The Dems' only alternative now (apart from a coup d'etat) is for Obama to abruptly quit the scene, and for the Right Wing to be blamed. Let's be on the watch out for this.

Two and a half years ago, George Will was slobbering all over Obama and hosted a dinner for The Won at his home for “house conservatives” (Brooks, Krathammer, Kristol, etc.). Welcome to the party, George. Now ditch that stupid toupee.

There is no way Obama loses a contested primary and there is no way he is overtly forced out by his nervous party. But the Dems might well find a way to get rid of him without taking the blame and Obama might just say “no mas” when it becomes clear even to him that his is a lost cause.

Anyone who ran against him for the Dem nomination would have to run to his left. There's no room on the other side. Anyone who could conceivably beat Obama would be even weaker in a general election. (Howard Dean? Russ Feingold?) Obama beat Hillary when she had all the advantages of incumbency. He'd clean her clock with the roles reversed. There's no way she'd risk a rematch.

But the Dems could surely find a way to torpedo Obama. There are several scandals brewing and, if a well-placed person wanted Obama out of the picture, that person could easily arrange for one of them to erupt. Bill Clinton survived a serious scandal in good times when his approval ratings were high. Obama’s immune system is seriously compromised by the dire political situation he finds himself in. One good scandal finishes him off. The Democrat bigwigs could shrug their shoulders and say “he did it to himself — not our fault.” Hillary is nominated by acclimation and the election is no longer a slam dunk.

Obama might also go into an emotional tailspin as it becomes clear the country has rejected him and just give up the fight. Already there are rumors that he suffers from clinical depression. He may be having trouble getting out of bed, let alone running for reelection.

I'm far from confident Obama will be the Dem nominee. I've never been confident on that score. I am less so with every passing day. When we finally acknowledge that we are experiencing a double dip recession, the odds that Obama isn't on the ballot next year will rise dramatically.

The Clintons aren't ready for rocking chairs just yet. Republicans have to prepare for the worst case scenario. Hillary with a shot to replace Obama is the worst case scenario.

That’s fair - and I am not absolving him of prior sins simply because he made a devastating statement that was delivered with that old Will eloquence. But I will admit that it was a brilliant performance whether or not it portends his return to the good guys team.

George Will would deserve a lot more credit for this put down if it didn't represent a recent conversion. Will was among the conservatives assuring us that Obama was an incandescent political talent. It took an astonishing amount of water rolling over the rock between Will's ears to scour away his initial misapprehension about Obama’s abilities. He's only just noticing now that the President is a tongue-tied twit. Most of us could have told him that in 2004. Welcome to the party indeed. Better late than never, but it's almost time for everyone to go home.

Hey George, here's a blast from the past:

Barack Obama took the next big step in his Republican charm offensive on Tuesday night, when he dined with several of the nation's most prominent conservative pundits.

The president-elect arrived at the Chevy Chase, Md., home of syndicated columnist George Will shortly after 6:30 p.m., according to a press pool report. Greeting him at the residence were other luminaries of the conservative commentariat, including the Weekly Standard's William Kristol, New York Times columnist David Brooks, and Charles Krauthammer of the Washington Post.

After nearly 3 years George Will, Kristol and Krauthammer finally figured it out.

Gee! No flies on those guys!

I agree the Rats are in a big-time crack over Zer0. But wasn’t there a couple of states that passed laws requiring proof of eligibility. Not sure he could pass a “natural born citizen” hurdle because of the nationality of his father in a one of these states.

Somebody in the Rat party could quietly force him to withdraw from the race or face impeachment and/or criminal charges. The puppetmaster Soros will make him do what is best for “the cause”. He might get “sick” or something and be unable to run. There are lots of ways to move him out of the race and still preserve the black voting block.

>> there are rumors that he suffers from clinical depression <<

Maybe more than just rumors?

Anyway, maybe this clinical depression will provide a perfect excuse for Durbin, Schumer and Reid to match down to the WH and tell Big Ø that he must step down — for the good of the Dhimmi Party, for the good of the chirrun, etc.

And then it's Hail to the Chief for POTUS Biden. Hallelujah!

>> Will was among the conservatives assuring us that Obama was an incandescent political talent. <<

Will was 100% correct that Big Ø possessed a superb political talent.

(Emphasis added.)

What Will apparently didn't foresee was that Big Ø is totally and 101% incompetent at anything other than "pure politics." No leadership abilities, no appreciation of America's unique role in the world, no understanding of basic economics, etc. etc.

The bottom line for me is that although Will may have been guilty of a venial failure, his offense doesn't rise to the level of a mortal sin. So maybe he deserves forgiveness.

Now if Chris Buckley would just confess his errors (even worse than Will's transgressions), renounce his worship of Øbammy and beg forgiveness, perhaps the sainted WFB Jr. could sleep more easily in his Eternal Resting Place.
