A man who never gave a coherent speech is a great orator. A man who cannot formulate a comprehensible English sentence is a great thinker. The nasty piece of work who talks about people bitterly clinging to their bibles and their guns has a first class temperament. This was a willing suspension of disbelief, a mass-psychosis. George W. Will was a prominent psychotic and I, for one, will never be able to take him seriously again, even if he does retire the squirrel that's stapled to his head.
