To: wintertime

The kind of community schools I think of would be voluntary attendance, not mandatory. No voting. I’m thinking state or county involvement could be something like “no felons/child molesters can be teachers” or something like that.

That sound okay?

How about the exact same laws that apply to day care providers and centers would apply to private teachers and their schools.

If laws like those now used for day care were common, I see small mini-schools being opened up in neighborhoods and run by trusted teachers. This would be especially adaptable to grades 1 to 8. Maybe some private teachers would choose to teach more sophisticated laboratory courses needed for grades 9 to 12, in places with more space, perhaps rented space in a church.

Now that I think about it, I don't ever recall seeing a Freeper posted article about day care center abuse, but we surely see daily articles about government school teachers being arrested.
