Perry: "I Don't Think You Have a Heart" If You Oppose In-State Tuition for Children of Illegal

Full title: Perry: "I Don't Think You Have a Heart" If You Oppose In-State Tuition for Children of Illegal Immigrants

Perry's response was forceful and personal. "I don't think you have a heart," Perry told his critics.

"If you say that we should not educate children who come into our state for no other reason than that they've been brought their through no fault of their own, I don't think you have a heart," Perry said. "We need to be educating these children because they will become a drag on our society. I think that's what Texans wanted to do. Out of 181 members of the Texas legislature when this issue came up [there were] only four dissenting votes. This was a state issue. Texas voted on it. And I still support it today."

I believe they shoukd be deported TODAY; however, if they are allowed to stay, they should at least be charged non-resident tuition. No subsidies for these illegal aliens.

I read that the Parkland Hospital in Dallas had a thousand births by illegals every month. We are paying for this because there is no way that Parkland Hospital could have afforded to take the expense of taking care of all of these illegals who are notorious for not paying their bills. Dozens of hospitals in high illegal alien areas have gone bankrupt because the illegals do not pay their bills. There can only be one explanation for this and that is that the federal government is picking up the tab. Who would have had the clout to get that kind of money for Parkland? Kay Baily Hutchinson, George W. Bush, Cornyn, or Perry? Or all of them. Texans better open their eyes and take a good look at their leaders. It is not by accident that Texas is being inundated with illegals. Your REPUBLICAN LEADERS are selling you out.

Let’s apply ‘Mexico’s Immigration Policies” and see how that goes over...as follows:

- If outsiders do not enhance the country’s “economic or national interests” or are “not found to be physically or mentally healthy,” they are not welcome.

- Neither are those who show “contempt against national sovereignty or security.”

- They must not be economic burdens on society.

- Must have clean criminal histories.

- Those seeking to obtain Mexican citizenship must show a birth certificate, ...provide a bank statement proving economic independence, ..pass an exam and ....prove they can provide their own health care.
– Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years’ imprisonment.

- Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud.

- Illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years’ imprisonment

-. Foreigners may be kicked out of Mexico without due process

- Native-born Mexicans are empowered to make citizens’ arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities.

- A National Population Registry tracks and verifies the identity of every member of the population, who must carry a citizens’ identity card. Visitors who do not possess proper documents and identification are subject to arrest as illegal aliens.

- Noncitizens canot in any way participate in the political affairs of Mexico.

It’s bad enough that we had to endure eight years of this from George W.

The more I listen to Perry and learn about the people who finacially support him, the more it seems that Texas is a big plantation. I just had a conversation with a neighbor of my daughter’s, a lady who lived in Texas for many years. She told me that in Texas, you do not see teenagers working in supermarkets, it is all Latino adults. No wonder HEB Grocers put the kabosh on the legislation to abolish sanctuary cities.

It is begining to look like much of the economy of the Texas plantation is fueled by folks from south of the border. Big donors like HEB Grocers and Perry Builders (not related to Gov. Perry) pulled the plug on the anti-sanctuary cities bill. Look up “HEB Grocers” and “sanctuary cities”. This was all over the Texas newspapers. A little peek behind the curtain at Emerald City.

Perry is an adroit politician, as a lifelong Texan he knows what Texas people like to hear and he tells them what they want to hear. This is the magic charm of all dishonest politicians. This is why we are disappointed over and over again. This time we have to be much more careful.

Wait, he changed positions...OH MY GOD.

Sorry, I don’t give a crap if that happens. At one point in his life, Reagan was a Democrat...he changed. Perry was a Democrat...he changed.

People evolve, people change their positions. This idea that someone is hard coded in their ideas and thoughts and can never change their mind is ludicrous.

Why was Perry elected Governor of Texas?

The Democratic Party has gone way to the left in the last thirty years, I think this turned off many Texans so they turned to the Republican Party. The Democrats have shot themselves in the foot in the more conservative parts of the country like Texas. Until recent decades, Texas was a predominately Democrat state. Since there is no real competition coming from the Democrat side, the only competition came from the Republicans.

Oh I get it....we have a lot of people here that are anti-Mormon...apparently so much so they are pro Muslim and Pro Obama.

Such statements like this are what makes posters like yourself look idiotic and one can not take very seriously. You really should read up on Jim's rules for posting here. One major rule is that Romney promotions will not be tolerated. So go ahead and keep beating the drums for the LDS Moron Romney. We won't have to see your posts much longer at the rate you're going my soon to be zotted friend.

I’m Roman Catholic. My preferred candidate is Chris Christie, but he’s not in the race.

I’m married to a Catholic woman for 14 years with two Catholic baptized children...a boy 12 and a girl 9, just recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

I’ve been a member of this board for many years....I don’t appreciate being called a zot when you don’t know me from Adam.

My point, and it’s a simple one, there is going to be a candidate likely on the GOP side that isn’t going to be pure enough here for a lot of folks. Every time I see a poster say they are going to sit out the election because the nominee won’t be pure enough, not conservative enough, not this or that it makes me cringe because that type of thinking puts Obama in power 4 more years. That’s the reality.

I don’t particularly like Romney either. But Romney vs Obama...yeah give me that Romney love and that Romney sign in the front yard. I’ve seen what happens when we sit it out...we get people like Bill Clinton elected...twice. We get people like Obama elected.

Good day sir....and a simple apology from you would be the decent thing to do...I suspect it isn’t coming.

There are over twelve million illegals in the country, probably more like twenty or thirty million. We cannot fix all of their problems. It is often said that we cannot deport millions of illegals but then these same people believe that we should give them the new amnesty which they now call comprehensive immigration reform. This new amnesty would involve taking down millions of names, making them learn English, and go through several steps to become legal immigrants. It would be much simpler to deport them all (which I think isn't necessary) than to follow them around making sure that they go to English classes every week. How ridiculous! During the Reagan amnesty, there was lots of fraud. Many illegals snuck into the country pretending that they had been here for years. What does anyone think would happen this time?

Compassion begins at home. Americans should put other Americans first and let these people who have made so many problems for us find a way out of their problems. If adults who came here as young children want to become legal, why don't they go to immigration lawyers, with their own money and pay them to help them out. It is possible that many people in this predicament can get a legal way to stay in the country. But it is their problem to solve, not ours.

If they have the good fortune to become legal, they will have to face the fact that their parents may have to go back home. There will be tears, but millions of legal immigrants went through painful separations from loved ones when we came to this country. This has been going on for generations. The Mexicans and Central Americans have little to complain about because unlike immigrants from other parts of the world, they can drive home to visit their family members. They do not have to cross the ocean to visit them. When they miss their families, they can call them on the phone and speak to them. They can keep in touch by email or Facebook. It is not like the days of yesterday when people could only communicate with their loved ones by letters. Technology has truly brought people closer today. So do not shed tears for illegals who have to part with their families, they are no better than we immigrants who had to go through the same thing without the convenience of being able to drive to see our families during vacation.

Americans have to stop being chumps and stop accepting the responsibility for these people. They have the responsibility to fix their own problems. Do they show any concern for all the problems they have caused Americans? No, they only care about themselves.

We have to get all illegals off every kind of welfare there is and we have to use e-verify to keep them from using fake social security cards to get jobs. And there are other steps to make it impossible for them to make a living here. They will leave and if we do not fall for the same error that we did during Reagan's time, they will never come back again. Americans are our responsibility, we cannot carry the whole world on our shoulders.

Stay home and STFU for 4 years after obama is in there again - ok?

- - —
NO I”M NOT GOING TO STAY HOME, as I told you earlier. But I will go 3rd party. I have yet to miss an election and won’t now, so now I won’t STFU either. You are the one saying we should vote for Romney if he gets the nomination.

But it will not be MY fault (or anyone else who votes against a RINO) if Zero wins again, it will the GOP’s for throwing Romney or some other RINO at us. This is the GOPs election to lose and they will lose it unless they get a clue and give us conservatives.

No they are living in miserable conditions and are willing to risk life and limb to come here to make a better life for themselves and their families.

I dare say that if you were living in some hell hole in Mexico controlled by drug lords and living in filth, you would move heaven and earth to come here and try to make your life better for yourself and your family.

- - - - - - -
They bring their miserable life with them and the crime.

And I did live in some hell hole controled by drug lords, it was in California. And I gave up a lot to move the hell out of there.

Don’t buy the lie that all they want is a ‘better life’. They want the freebiess, to take back ‘their country’ (La Raza types) and to commit crimes against us ‘wealthy’ Americans.

Of course they aren't coming here for a "worse life".

But they are BREAKING THE LAWS of the very country they are seeking a new life in. And to top it off...many want to be coddled, and lot's DEMAND to be...Fed, medicated, doctored, schooled and helped.

That said..I'd be trying to get here too. But that doesn't make it right. And doesn't mean we allow it.

We have laws...and they need to be enforced. PERIOD.

I read somewhere, years ago, that Fox was concerned about the US economy because if it tanked then Mexicans would move back home and that they money they send to Mexico makes up a fair part of the Mexican economy.

Hoping my husband can remember the source.

Oh, yeah because no one could POSSIBLY be against Romney and tell the truth about him unless they were an ‘anti-Mormon’. And of course they must be pro-muslim and pro Obama. /sarc

Talk about being hysterical. Are you Mormon?

Open you eyes, Romney is Obama, except at least with Obama we know he is telling the truth about being a Socialist. Romney is instead lying and pretending to be a Republican.

They have the same positions on most issues and Romney as POTUS WILL be Obama 2.0. Tax hikes and all - he will ruin the US like like MA.

That doesn’t make me an ‘anti’, it makes me smart enough to see through Romney’s games.

Look at the dates, he changed positions over and over and over again. This isn’t a pro-life conversion, it is lying to get what he wants.

Romney is a liar who thinks he is the God given appointee to save the Constitution (literally) as such he will say ANYTHING to get elected.
