Riehl: Is Rick Perry Done?
Conservatives 4 Palin ^ | Sept. 23, 2011 | Dan Riehl

Posted on 09/23/2011 9:16:39 AM PDT by RobaWho

Everyone here in Palinville who looks forward to good hard competition will be relieved to know that Gov. Rick Perry was NOT drunk at last night’s debate, all appearances to the contrary. It’s just that before taking the stage he inexplicably chose to receive a Gardasil shot, one of whose known side effects is mental slowness.

I heard about the whole pre-debate immunization from Michele Bachmann’s Twitter.I could be wrong on that. It’s just the information I received.

But enough about my opinion of Perry’s debate performance, let’s hear Dan Riehl’s …

Perry is a “goose cooked”. Shades of NCIS. As Mark Steyn says he is sick of Perry using demorat talking points. You heartless people opposed to having your children’s future spent on illegals.

>>> I’m not a Perry fan but there are an awful lot of cheap shots being landed in that first line. >>>

That’s me too. I want him to do well, but he hasn’t so far.

Having said that, he is way to the right of Obama and any major elected Democrat on jobs, taxes, regulations, education, terror and a lot of other issues.

He is somewhat to the right of all Democrats on border security. He is consistent with some Democrats on some other immigration issues, but so are a lot of Texas conservatives.

And he had an awful night last night in the debate, but there is time to recover if he has it in him to step up his game. (I don’t know if he does or not.)

Why can’t we just discuss his weaknesses in light of these realities instead of lobbing bombs about him being just like a Democrat and other horse tripe? Such vents may make the poster feel better but it does not add to the conversation nor does it engender sympathy for their particular candidate.

Not knowing Perry from Adam, I gave him 3 debates now to introduce himself to me and show me what he’s got. Conclusion – he has Nothing. He totally comes across as a buffoon, and the least prepared candidate on the stage, even though he has to know what questions were going to be targeted at him.

How he handled the in-state tuition question was shameless. Sounded like a bit of advice from the book Rules for Radicals. – “When under attack accuse the attacker of something outlandish and indefensible (even if not true), taking the spotlight off you.”
Accusing opponents of his policy of not wanting children to have an education is just the sort of outlandish accusation that would make Saul Alinsky proud.

-- I'm not a Perry fan but there are an awful lot of cheap shots being landed in that first line. --

I've only read Riehl occasionally, but that opening paragraph causes me to lump him in with the likes of Andrew Sullivan, Ann Coulter, and the harpies that post at Huffington Post and Firedoglake. I didn't read the piece farther than the first paragraph.

Yeah why not get rid of Rick Perry and let’s wait for Obama to be re-elected

You seriously think Perry could beat Obama?

Palin bests Perry in EVERY single possible category

Sarah Palin, so far, has failed to best Rick Perry in the all-important "Who has declared themselves a candidate" category.

Romney should drop out.

After helping Obama win in 2008, and supporting
Obama in 2009 and 2010, Romney is the
DARLING of the MSM and the DNC?
=========================
NOW WHY WOULD THAT BE?
Because they have the 'goods' on Romney and will drop it as the October surprise.

=========================

"But the details of the event are more than unseemly - they may, in fact, be illegal. Massachusetts's animal cruelty laws specifically prohibit anyone from carrying an animal "in or upon a vehicle, or otherwise, in an unnecessarily cruel or inhuman manner or in a way and manner which might endanger the animal carried thereon. "An officer for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals responded to a description of the situation saying "it's definitely something I'd want to check out." The officer, Nadia Branca, declined to give a definitive opinion on whether Romney broke the law but did note that it's against state law to have a dog in an open bed of a pick-up truck, and "if the dog was being carried in a way that endangers it, that would be illegal."

"Dog on Roof? What Was It Like for Romney's Pooch? - Scientists Say Dog Likely Experienced Wind-Whipped, Uncomfortable Trip - "Before beginning the drive, Mitt Romney put Seamus, the family's hulking Irish setter, in a dog carrier and attached it to the station wagon's roof rack. e'd built a windshield for the carrier, to make the ride more comfortable for the dog,".. Jordan Kaplan, the owner of Petaholics, a dog walking service in New York City,
and a lifelong dog owner and dog lover, said Romney's actions were uncalled for"

"Romney's dog - This is a distinction Mitt Romney probably could do without, but he is surely the first presidential candidate to be attacked for putting a dog with diarrhea in a carrier and tying it to the top of a station wagon. Romney's defense: Seamus liked it. [like the citizens under Romney's RomneyCARE, etc.?] "

"As the oldest son, Tagg Romney commandeered the way-back of the wagon, keeping his eyes fixed out the rear window, where he glimpsed the first sign of trouble. ''Dad!'' he yelled. ''Gross!'' A brown liquid was dripping down the back window, payback from an Irish setter who'd been riding on the roof in the wind for hours. As the rest of the boys joined in the howls of disgust, Romney coolly pulled off the highway and into a service station. There, he borrowed a hose, washed down Seamus and the car, then hopped back onto the highway."

"Story about dog on car roof comes back to bite Romney - 200 comments from readers complaining of animal cruelty"

Romney's bad behavior Exposed by Seamus

"Romney Loses Nomination Over Dog Abuse? - Romney was traveling that summer with his wife, five sons, and Seamus to his parent's cottage on Lake Huron. But hours into the ride, Seamus apparently suffered diarrhea, which ran down the back window of the car. .David Kravitz wrote on BlueMassGroup, a liberal blog. "It also strikes me as classic Romney: it solves a problem efficiently, in a business-like manner, and with no regard whatsoever for the suffering that the solution may cause."

Right. The process is doing what it is supposed to do.

There is no other way for voters to see and hear these people in real time.

They need and deserve an opportunity to express themselves in the best way they can.

It is up to voters to determine who is most capable.

He’s done.

Not trying to be too harsh, but Perry needs to take his leftist open border policies and head back to Texas...Lots of illegal alien butt to kiss there.

Get this animated imposter clown off the stage...

I clicked here expecting serious analysis, and all I see are juvenile cracks almost as low as Bill Maher.
This is scraping the bottom of the barrel here.
