Barbara Bush phones Chris Christie's wife to beg him to run for White House
Daily Mail UK ^ | September 27, 2011

As speculation brews about a possible Chris Christie bid for the White House, several big names are joining a chorus to persuade him.

Among them is former First Lady Barbara Bush, who recently phoned the New Jersey governor's wife Mary to convince her that the Christie family would be just fine in the White House despite the intense attention, a source told the New York Post.

Mrs Bush joins political heavyweights like former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in asking that he give the presidency a shot.

Despite insisting he won't run, Governor Christie is making the most of the speculation, travelling the country this week raising money for Republicans, rubbing elbows with rainmakers and speaking at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Gov Christie's three-state tour is bringing him to Missouri, California and Louisiana - trips paid for by each state's GOP organization.

It will also bring home a lot of money for the New Jersey state Republican Party, which will see proceeds from three fundraisers the governor is hosting.

Talk of Christie entering the 2012 race for the White House ramped up this weekend, pushed in part by Texas Gov.

Rick Perry's shaky debate performance last week, as well as his loss in the Florida straw poll to Godfather’s Pizza mogul Herman Cain on Saturday.

While Christie's advisers swatted down the notion that he was reconsidering over the weekend, former Gov. Tom Kean, a longtime Christie mentor and confidant, stirred the pot on Monday.

You nailed it. There are some things that are simply not allowed. Such as: Allowing the hobbits to rule the Shire. B. Bush is on my S. list and shall remain there until she meets St. Peter. From the looks of things I can safely hold my breath for that.

Nope, too late, missed the boat. Christie’s a one term governor with only two years under his belt. He needs to stop playing coy and being such a tease, he’s going to disappoint his supporters.

86 year old Barbara Bush jumping into politics? Even if true, who would leak such a bizarre story?

Mary (Matalin) Carville? ...snicker

Isn’t B. Bush the same whom famously called for S. Palin to do the country a fav and stay in Alaska? She can go to hell also.

Yep, and she and George HW supported Kay Bailey Hutchison over Perry in the last Texas gubernatorial race here. This smacks nothing more than anti-Perry-ism from the Bushes.

The story is totally believable, I can even imagine Laura Bush phoning.

Why shouldn’t Christie run? Seems to me people who will vote for Romney might find Christie a more attractive alternative.

And Palin should stay in Alaska. Don’t you have some knitting to do, Barb?

“Closet dem wife of former closet RINO president calls closet RINO governor to convince him to run”.

You got that right.

To Barbara Bush, Laura Bush, the Bush twins, Jeb Bush, GHW Bush Sr, and any other Bush's I might have left out.... just STFU and go away!!! I am convinced that every single Bush mentioned would sooner pull the lever for RAT bastard commie pig 0dumb0 in Nov 2012, rather than vote for a bonafide genuine patriotic conservative Republican for president.

GO AWAY BUSH'S!!!

It was clear to me that he and his wife are liberals

I knew that before he was elected, but time was you couldn't say it, well you could but Freepers didn't like it. Since then they have since seen Tokyo Rove for what he is, maybe they will figure out it wasn't worth the trade off. Reagan brought us GHWB, who gave us Clinton, and anyone but Kerry brought us GW, who stayed in office because it was anyone but Gore, and here we are, ruining another anyone but Obama campaign again. We must figure out that being better than the other guy is not the only Option. If we continue to put people on the ballot simply because the elites perceive them to be electable, we will continue to elect Progressives that have the same agenda, just better hidden. All the Bush women are liberals, and so was Nancy Reagan whom we owe a great deal of credit for the defeat of Ollie North for Senate. Ronald and Jayne Wyman produced great Conservative children, Nancy produced Leftist loons.

Either that or the Bushes are desperate to get back into the power circle.
