Heckler apologizes to Bristol Palin (After Lawyering Up)
CNN Entertainment ^ | September 28, 2011 | Ed Payne

A heckler who got into a heated exchange with Bristol Palin at a Southern California bar and restaurant last week has apologized for the incident.

Palin had just finished riding a mechanical bull at the Saddle Ranch & Chop House when Stephen Hanks shouted, "Do you ride Levi like that? Your mother's a whore."

(snip)

"Having had an opportunity to view the camera footage of the incident this past Thursday ... , I have come to the conclusion that no matter what my feelings are towards Sarah Palin, I should not have expressed them towards her daughter, Bristol Palin," Hanks said in a statement released by his attorney Tuesday.

"I am very passionate about politics, and believe in equality for all Americans," Hanks continued. "I expressed my feelings in an improper manner in the heat of the moment, and allowed my emotions to get the better of me."

(snip)

A statement from Hanks' attorney, Michael Gulden, denied any connection to the TV show.

"Mr. Hanks would like to clarify that, to his knowledge, this incident was not 'set up' for Bristol Palin's forthcoming reality show, as has been suggested in various media reports," Gulden said." In fact Mr. Hanks was not even aware that cameras were filming the exchange."

"I am very passionate about politics, and believe in equality for all Americans," Hanks continued.

Well then, all is forgiven! (sarcasm).

Amazing how fast some people "grow up" when they are suddenly facing criminal & civil liability.

Good point, but a PR rep would be better, IMO, and he is in Hollywood.

Probably a little bit of both, IMO. What I think is at all possible is that he was afraid of getting sued by Bristol Palin. I don’t think it would even be possible, and it would really just be a waste of time and a distraction for Ms. Palin. Very little, if any, positives, and perhaps some negatives.

Maybe it is that or maybe Bristol and the Massey brothers, that she is living for the show...want out of it? They think they were set up.

“Bristol Palin’s run-in with a heckler was set up by the producer’s of her reality show — at least that’s what her co-star Kyle Massey thinks ... this according to sources close to Massey.”

Massey is now not happy with the show now and thinks it is sleazy...

Stephen Hanks now realizes that (a) he looked like a big jerk on the film of him arguing with Bristol Palin and, (b) the rest of the country doesn't necessarily share his hateful opinion of conservatives, specifically, Sarah Palin. The negative publicity and possibility of legal hassles has, no doubt, made Hanks reassess what he did in a bar with a few drinks in him. This kind of stuff happens a lot in bars. However, it's usually not about a politician and few of the participants are recorded on camera or have famous last names. Stephen Hanks won't be sued but he will find out what harassment feels like. Hopefully, not from FReepers and certainly not from this one. Stephen Hanks has been shown to the nation for the fool he is and that is good enough for me.

No. You believe some pigs are more equal than others.

If hee were passionate about equality he would not have made a blatantly racist, sexist accusation in public against a person who he did not know and had no reason to disparage. Clearly he does not have a passionate concern for equality. What he has is a passion for racist, sexist abuse.

Chrissy Matthews got a tingle from Obama. Palin’s lawyers just sent a collective shiver down the spines of PDSbot’s who have put their words into print and in front of TV cameras.

Just look at all the lefty venues who had Joe alll set up for interviews, and have now canceled and dropped them like red hot potatoes. Exposing their deep pockets was not good for ones financial health. When it came to $, even Keith Olberman suddenly developed standards and canceled.

So whether she goes forward from here, and win or lose, by laying down the mark Palin has already won in some respects.

See, I told you people would be more careful of how they defame lady Sarah from now on. I am so glad that God gave her the perfect opportunity to sue somebody big. It may be the best thing she has done for herself.

Just me, or everyone? I note you have chosen to leave post #49 up... my post had erroneous info, for which I posted a retraction. On the other hand, post #49 is quite accurate.

In the interest of a fair application of this rule, you might want to take a look at that.

Just sayin'.

Didn't take him long to lawyer up and apologize after the Palins lowered the boom on McGinniss and Random House.

Good point.

If Bristol had said a similar type thing about gays - the MSM would be calling it hate speech. Anyone see any MSM outlet use that term?

For those who have been around these parts a while, can you recall a time when society was this course? Something has happened to our society since the Clintons were in office.

People do not tolerate others very well- especially when the 'others' behave in ways unbecoming an American. I believe Oblame-a is only making it worse on every level (race, income, sexual preference, etc.).

Intolerance of normal people is not a healthy sign for society. Tolerating it could be deadly. Perverts, sickos, and weirdos need to understand that their fetishes will only result in a long-overdue push back by those who have had enough.

Of course, this is precisely what the left has engaged in for many years, culminating in the most foul of presidents in our history. Will Obama get thrown out on his ears in 2012? Does a faggot who jumps in the face of an innocent girl deserve a fist in the mouth? Yes, to both.

Call it a 'pent-up' reaction or, awakening a sleeping giant effect. Either way, Americans have just about had enough and the push back will be huge.

It began in 2010 but will take off in 2012 and will be recognized by the bankruptcy of every major media outlet that promotes these anti-American ideals. Followed by an austerity program that'll wean every fake and fraud receiving welfare or SSI from the rolls. Whole departments will be shut down at the federal level. Those government agencies that the various states feel they can afford will survive- the rest will be toast, shuttered like many a business in your local strip mall. Unemployment will skyrocket to heights not seen before.

But whose fault will it be? The TEA partier who warned of unsustainable programs and a huge public debt bubble? You know, the normal American who lives within their means and pays their bills on time? No.

It'll be the guy in San Francisco with his pants around his ankles who wants you to respect his right to public nudity. It'll be the treasury secretary who can't do his own taxes but expects you to respect the tax burden he intends to place on you and your children's backs. It'll be the retired public union employee who expects a near-full salary paid by you each and every month for the rest of his/her life.

In short, it'll be everyone who ever got up into America's grill and got away with it, for a while. America's about to chew them up and spit them out. The candidate who realizes the danger the left represents to America by pumping their Monopoly Money into a public debt bubble that will burst, gets my vote.(Cutting spending is THE way to relieve pressure and avoid a burst, but you'll notice- they can't even do that).
