Exactly. He was only sorry that people didn't like what he said, not that he said it.
And he's still pushing the idea that it was solely about education instead of immigration. I will agree with Perry that things were a bit different in 2001 - Perry got away with supporting open borders in 2001, because we still elected him the following year.

Offering regrets is another disturbing side of Perry's character........definitely not someone who engenders trust and confidence.
He now says he "regrets" labeling 81% of Americans who disagree with him .......only because it collapsed his campaign.
Perry meant what he said----he meant to say conservatives are "heartless"....viewers can see him deliberately punctuating the word to reinforce it.
He used the word b/c he wanted to demean conservatives and advance his ambitions at their expense.
If using the word did the opposite----and heightened his popularity----Perry would be saying "heartless" over and over and over.
Perry's monumental ego is showing. His naked ambitions are scary.

Yep, exactly - otherwise why WAIT NEARLY A WEEK. He needed to see what the polls were showing first. Since it hurt him bad enough, yea, what the hell, tell the Tea Party what they want to hear.
