Why would Egypt have a problem with this unless their goal is to not be a democracy. If that is the case we should not be sending them money. Truly we should not be anyway.

passage of the bill would be "detrimental to future cooperation" between the countriesSounds like a threat to me .... along the lines of the Muslim belief, as instructed by the Koran, that infidels can be permitted to co-exist if they pay the extra tax ... the protection money. Well, if it were up to me I'd give them nothing. Screw them !
