Bombshell: DOJ Considering Elimination of ATF (ATF? WTF?)
Townhall ^ | 09/30/2011 | Katie Palich

Multiple sources, including sources from ATF, DOJ and Congressional offices have said there is a white paper circulating within the Department of Justice, outlining the essential elimination of ATF. According to sources, the paper outlines the firing of at least 450 ATF agents in an effort to conduct damage control as Operation Fast and Furious gets uglier and as election day 2012 gets closer.

“It’s a serious white paper being circulated, how far they’d get with it I don’t know,” a confidential source said.

After a town hall meeting about Operation Fast and Furious in Tucson, Ariz. on Monday, ATF Whistleblower Vince Cefalu, who has been key in exposing details about Operation Fast and Furious, confirmed the elimination of ATF has been circulating as a serious idea for sometime now and that a white paper outlining the plan does exist.

Sounds great right? Eliminating ATF? But there is more to this story. Remember, low level ATF field agents, like ATF whistleblower John Dodson, were uncomfortable conducting Operation Fast and Furious from the beginning, but were told by high level officials within ATF that if they had a problem with the operation, they could find a job elsewhere.

“Allowing loads of weapons that we knew to be destined for criminals, this was the plan. It was so mandated,” ATF Whistleblower John Dodson said in testimony on Capitol Hill on June 15, 2011.

In fact, not only were the ATF agents forced to carry out the operation, they were told to go against what they had been taught in training.

Revenge for the whistle-blowing or attempt to bury the whole mess? Or both?

According to sources, the paper outlines the firing of at least 450 ATF agents in an effort to conduct damage control as Operation Fast and Furious

Now, this sounds preposterous given the someone at the top gave the orders, ATF agents carry them out. Therefore, someone or lots of people at the top need to exit, forcefully if necessary.

Is there any real doubt that Obama was well aware of this plan? There is simply no way that someone would implement this sort of program on their own. I'm thinking that Obama is stupid-smart and there are so many examples to cite. Of course, this one is stupid-stupid.

I assume that you are referring to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS which is handled by the FBI. The ATF aids in the enforcement of Federal requirements for gun purchases. Like so many Government laws, there are multiple agencies involved in the management and regulation of a law.

White House Insider (Ulsterman’s anonymous “source” - unfortunately Ulsterman can’t be linked here because he got zotted a couple years ago) was amazed at how brazenly open Holder has become in the ongoing cover-ups.

It’s either stupidity or terror at what’s going to come down the pike.

Solargate, Fast and Furious and we still have bodies buried in Chicago (Rezko, Blogavich) just waiting for Holder to leave so the files can be opened up.

This is the end game. It may be better, all that being said, to let the electorate deal with all this next November than risk a race war by forcing Dumb0 and his cronies out. And BTW, this stinks of Valerie Jarrett. Dumb0 is too lazy and stupid to think of this stuff on his own.

>I’m with you. ATF and homeland security both should go. Stick with the basic FBI and police forces...back to the basics...that should be plenty good!<

Just a reminder .. the whole gunwalker mess was done with an FBI informant. The FBI was the ones who set this whole mess up. They were the ones who gave the green lights to the sales in the databases.

How many whistle blowers came out of the FBI???

It was ATF agents who went to congress not the FBI ... who STILL have been silent on the whole thing.

be careful what you ask for you may just get it.

Cool plan and it does appear that a Republican will be in charge come January 2013. I was wondering if Obama continued the practice of recording everything that happens in the Oval Office, like Nixon....now, that would be some fun stuff to review!

As an aside, even I was snookered into thinking that having Obama as POTUS had an upside in that the 'race' thing would finally subside, but that didn't even happen and in fact it's much worse with something coming up practically every 5 minutes since he was elected.

I just want him off my TV, plus now Obama is storming the country (spending a ton of taxpayer funds) to "educate" us dumb white crackers so that we will pressure our Tea Party-influenced Republican representatives to support another pork-riddled fiscal train wreck, which is diametrically opposite as to why we voted for them in the first place. How stupid is that?

These are more than passingly strange days, politically speaking (and economically speaking, also).

Alcohol goes to FDA.
Tobacco goes to Ag.
Firearms goes to the 2nd Amendment and we get rid of the GOA of 1968.

Why not eliminate the DOE for the Solyndra sham, and the NEA for the failed eductaion system? How about the EPA, for the drastic economic and private property Rights elimination?

A good start....
