Good points Bray, as always.

Let take the time now to mention Christie, another NE Republican that the Blue Bloods want us to nominate.

Christie has pretty much done nothing so far as any claim to fame goes. Which is not to deny him credit for taking on the NJ unions with some force but look at poor Gov Walker in Wisconsin. They beat that man to a bloody pulp all for wanting to just reduce their negotiation items. Nobody’s pounding drums for Walker to run for Prez.

Beyond that, the man believes in manmade global warming, he refused to have NJ join the state’s lawsuit against Obamacare, he’s got questionable stands on the second ammendment and most damning of all, at least to this Delawarian, when our state was struggling against the slams and hurts of our own political party to get that RINO Mike Castle out of power....CHRISTIE ENDORSED THE MAN!

Yet every week we hear Christie, oh please Christie, please, please, please Christie. And Christie looks long-suffering as he purses his fat lips and denies, with great pain, that he cannot run, does not want to run. Crazy Ann Coulter, who evidently gets hot and bothered over fat men who would cushion her boney self, done lost all credibility as the sane with her gusto over Christie.

Since I’m a roll here, there was a thread on FreeRepublic the other day, a vanity thread I think, where someone posed the question of what effect Christie’s great weight would hold against him if the Blue Bloods Bush, and Karl Rove who has Christie snug in his pocket, were to get their way and the man actually, somehow, got the nomination.

Come on guys, CHRISTIE IS HUGE! He’s not just a portly fellow and goodness knows I could shed twenty pounds and not miss them. Americans might even, given a stretch and after years of the Obamas and their cilantro pizzas, be happy to have someone with a few pounds on their frames but Christie, check it out, is waaaaaaaay big.

I swear I don’t even buy into this ersatz notion that America’s presidents have to be perfectly healthy and I’d vote for Herman Cain despite his cancerous history. But Christie is hideously fat.....that’s right I said it.

His obesity would be forever a distraction in any kind of political campaign and I throw it out there cause I’m on an anti-Christie rant and like Bray, I’m sick of the Blue Blood GOP picking our candidates.

Look at their history...McCain? Dole? Here in Delaware the Blue Bloods pick jokes to run for office but let us pick a candidate they don’t like it’s nothing but mockery that they never level on a Republican.

Hopefully, McChristie will go nowhere.

Especially, since it will soon require at least a forklift to move him.Even Rush figured out that if you can't control your own weight....well you get the rest.

He's a NE liberal that only another rino could get behind. Who knows what happened to Anne Coulter or others who support him but here on FR we know the difference between conservatives and all the rest.

Sort of a "Jack Sprat" kinda thing.

Not to defend the governor, but to paraphrase Dr. King, I have a dream that some day a man will be judged by the content of his character and not the volume of his skin.

And the color of Herman Cain's skin would probably be a distraction in any political campaign. That's not a good reason to not support Mr. Cain. And we could go through the list of people and find some distraction with each person. Still, we hopefully will select the best person to be the Republican candidate and the next American President, not the best sum of the parts.

Thank you for the excellent list of many of Christie's shortcomings for national office. I was desperately hoping he would have the sense NOT to get in the race. (Fat chance on sense--he's going after the people who ran Giuliani's magnificent campaign.)

However, if he is challenged on those points plus his appointing a Muslim judge, supporting the Victory Mosque at Ground Zero, etc., he'll be out in two debates MAX! Although I think he would come in with a pretty high number because of people who only know of his terrific handling of union teachers and other super left fools. He'll drop like a rock when the rest comes out.

Hopefully that will show the Establishment hacks that they're not calling our shots anymore.

Christie is a great governor of New Jersey and has a refreshing frank way of talking.

However, he is not conservative enough to be president for most of us.

And I was all over the Fat thread. Someone put up a picture of Taft. Yeah, Taft was fat, but we didn’t have television ... just had to suffer the occasional picture of him sitting in a chair. Anyway, Taft was like 6’2” a huge man.

Christie doesn’t look as if he’s much more than 5’9” or 5’10”. He’s just round like a bowling ball. Seeing him beside Obama would be a funny picture, both of them a little weird looking physically.

No Christie.

Yes, CC is liberal in so many important areas. But for me, the biggest deal breaker is his fondness (or at best, blind ignorance) regarding Islamists and the dangers of Sharia. (He appointed a Muslim judge and favors the Ground Zero Mosque). This morning, C. Amanpour tried to play gotcha with Herman Cain, quoting CC saying that the fears Cain and other conservatives have voiced about Sharia Law creeping into our country is “just crazy”. Herman stayed calm and said, “well, then, call me crazy”. He handled her well in general, but I keep hoping he’ll get a more in-depth education from the likes of Gabriel, Spencer, Steyn, Horowitz, Geller, Emerson, Babbin, Bolton or any combination thereof so that he can confidently expound on why Islam and Sharia are such dangerous and imminent threats inside this country.

BTW, Herman’s been cancer-free for five years now and beat incredible odds, even according to his doctors :-)
