Friday's NBC Today devoted an entire segment to photos of First Lady Michelle Obama stopping by a Target store in Alexandria, Virginia, as Capitol Hill correspondent Kelly O'Donnell – on location at the shopping center – gushed: "Check this out. Behind those dark glasses, tucked under that Nike cap, one of the world's most famous women. Yes, that is the First Lady of the United States at Target.
A sound bite was featured of The Washington Post's Amy Argetsinger touting the "wow factor" of the First Lady going to the department store. Later, O'Donnell declared: "Doing ordinary things in tough economic times can be good for a public image." A sound bite followed from left-wing Huffington Post senior politics editor Howard Fineman: "It's great PR for them, because they can say, 'Look, on this trip and others, we know what's going on outside the gates of the White House.'"

The SS had to notify the Target that they were coming. They ALWAYS do a security sweep prior to a visit.
ALSO, Target had to approve the photgraphing in the store. When local news went out to cover the event [after the fact], they were allowed to film in the store - BUT with a store employee monitoring them AND they were only to film in certain parts of the store ...
To say the AP photographer was there by PURE HAPPEN STANCE is PURE BS !!!

Barf... doesn’t surprise me one bit. Most bubble-headed, clueless women here in the northeast (FReepers, conservatives and Tea Partiers excluded of course!) worship the ground Moochelle AND Hillary Clintoon walk on. These women are the reason stupid shows like “The View” and “Ellen” continue to apparently do well in the ratings...
I guess the reporters didn't know about the $17 million stimulus payoff to Oregon State to keep Michelle's brother-the-lousy-basketball-coach, Craig Robinson, in a job.

Remember, they are in campaign mode now and they don’t want to upset the poor folks so they have to appear to actually understand poor folk and go shopping where the poor folks shop, it’s all propaganda, remember Mike Dukakis’s infamous ride in a military tank with a military helmet on ?
Bad news for them .... we know them too well to believe it again. It may have worked the first time but as the saying goes “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”.
