“...something even bigger than her family.”

You were more gracious to me than some other PalinFRistas (who shall remain unnamed), for suggesting I thought she would decline to run. To be honest, my gut told me in November 2008 that she wouldn’t run in ‘12. That was my conclusion based on nothing but maternal instinct.

So, I DO buy that her decision was based on family. SP has three children still at home, the youngest of whom is only 3 years old and a Downs Syndrome child. He’s no longer the 4-6 month old infant of the ‘08 campaign. His needs are so much ore now,

There is no way any person, however gifted, can be POTUS, a 24/7/365 job, AND satisfactorily mother that family, especially Trig.

I’m delighted for her, personally, that she came to that conclusion. She’s still very young, will be very active, can speak out without interference of handlers or concern about how her every word would be perceived around the world. (and, yes, a POTUS does have to worry about that).

Having provided her public service for conservative causes and candidates, she can return to Wasilla to be with her family in their natural environment.

If she wants to run in 12 years, she’ll be far more seasoned than today and not torn between two conflicting sets of obligations. She got her priorities absolutely right IMO.

I honestly think she didn’t run because she understood from the polling that she COULD conceivably get the nomination, but then could be the only way the Republicans could blow this election against Obama.

In which case it was quite a noble and wise decision. It takes a lot to fully admit to oneseelf that you’re so fundamentally disliked by such a large portion of the electorate needed to win, and that they are beyond being persuaded otherwise.

Your post 945 was very helpful to me. Thank you.

Sarah to me was the one person who could have led a Conservative tidal wave over this country and brought it back from the abyss.

She was fearless when it came to Obama, and took him on constantly, when the feckless GOP was wetting its pants daily.

She is responsible for John Boehner getting his gavel back, and she got nothing in return, not even the thanks fo the GOP.

I thought her to be the one outsider, not bought, who could bring a revival back to America, like Reagan did in 1980.

I looked forward to seeing Sarah Palin unleashed and unhandled.

She is heads and shoulders above every one of the present candidates. And she best embodied our core beliefs as American conservatives.

Her decision NOT to run was not made until recently, in my opinion. I saw something in her eyes tonight on Greta that I have not seen before. A look of defeat or fear, I cannot tell which. Something went down, and I don’t know what.

Her character is such that she did NOT string people along.

I also see 2012 as the last chance America has to remain a free country. We are under assault daily by Obama and his regime, and the country remains in danger until January 20, 2013 at the earliest.

Sarah to me represented our Esther, and I make no apologies for that analogy.

Indeed it is in my tagline for over a year, and this post will be its last appearance.

We lost a great light for good tonight with her decision not to run. She outshines anyone on those debate platforms.
She will not have the same effectiveness she had before tonight, because she always represented a threat to the Establishment, and that was part of her appeal.

And that is why they fought so hard against her. They feared her alone, not anyone else the GOP could field.

I am sorely disappointed tonight. I can see dark days ahead for America, not the least of which is a financial collapse that is looming. I see violence coming, and a day when the sunshine patriot will once again flee.

I have never seen such a bright beacon since Reagan, except for her. Even in 1980 the enemy was outside.

Now, the enemy is inside the gates, and none of the present candidates even understand this.

I see a lot of folks going to Cain. All well and good, but we still don’t understand that as Conservative, we are the enemy to the GOP RINO establishment.

If the RINOS succeed again like they did in 2008, it is the end for the GOP.

Anyway, today is a new political reality, and it must be adjusted to. Sarah put her family first, and who can blame her. She has stoically stood in the path of fire for over three years now. No one else has withstood the vile attacks she has had to endure.

God bless her and her family.
