The filing deadlines have moved forward by months since Reagan announced. It isn’t about how far before November 2012 you announce, it is if you file papers early enough to be on the first state’s ballots. Now, if a candidate doesn’t file by the end of October, they won’t be on South Carolina or New Hampshire’s ballots for the primary.

I don’t think you could get on the Mi ballot that late either. The field is perry much set now.IMO
