Sarah Palin 2012 decision: Not running (Has America died, along with Steve Jobs?)
Politico ^

Posted on 10/06/2011 1:14:33 AM PDT by quesney

Sarah Palin pledged to stay an active part of the political discussion as she announced she wouldn’t be making a 2012 White House run.

On Greta Van Susteren’s Fox News show Wednesday night, Palin told supporters that she’s sorry if they are disappointed that she passed on the race.

“I apologize to those who are disappointed in this decision,” she said. “I’ve been hearing from them in the last couple of hours but I believe that they, when they take a step back, will understand why the decision was made and understand that, really, you don’t need a title to make a difference in this country. I think that I’m proof of that.”

Palin told Van Susteren that her husband, Todd Palin, heard from some of the GOP presidential candidates since making her announcement at 6 p.m. She did not identify which ones.

Palin added that she considered the thought that, by not running in 2012, she may forfeit any future chance to do so.

Except for maybe Herman Cain, there's no GOP candidate who shows the capacity to do what's necessary to push tough reform, end bi-partisan Republicrat Demublican corruption and liberate the US economy from DC.

The US economy is finished if our choices end up being Obama and Romney. 300 million people -- and this is the best we can do?

Reagan wasn’t liked by the GOP establishment and it took him 25 years to get a nomination.

Interesting little tidbit from the article;

Her political action committee, SarahPAC, reported $1.402 million cash on hand in July, the latest records that are available. The report showed that while she spent a considerable sum — $673,000 — raising money, she did little to bolster a staff, instead paying her parents for jobs listed as “correspondence and card mailing.”

Governor Palin has her priorities right: God, family, and THEN country. She said she was thinking about running, and it appears she was. It wasn’t some grand political strategy any more, in my opinion, than an attempt to make more money off of her popularity (as some FReepers claim).

I don’t think she’s either the saint or sinner that many people make her out to be. She seems like a talented, moral lady who has her head on straight. There are millions more just like her. Any one of them could make a much better president than Mr. Obama.

If the loss of Sarah Palin for president kills America, then we’re beyond saving anyway, but I still believe in the many millions of hard-working, moral, play-by-the-rules Americans like Governor Palin. The only way we’re guaranteed to lose is if we give up!

Hyperbole much?

Good point. I remember Reagan at the edges for years, derided and marginalized. His election was actually Goldwater’s win, and over a decade in the making.

Get back to me in 2016, after four years of either Obama or Romney. We’re through.

Humor must have a element of truth. Palin is the anti-drama queen. I watched her TV show. Sure her Dad loaded her gun, but did you notice the tough slog they made through the marsh? She was whipped, but not complaining. You pic is a left/loon narrative, i.e. the truth matters not, just say it. Mysogynist putz describes you perfectly, but I would never say that about a shut-in.

I love you Latin tagline, but doubt that you know any Latin other than standard oft used phrases. I took Latin for two years, I suspect you didn’t. Just more evidence that you are pretentious, plus the other stuff I said before, but I would never say that about someone living in their mother’s basement.

I have stepped back and thought about it like she said to do. and I still don’t understand.

the lady is acting like this is 1996. These are not normal times and the office of the Presidency is way more important than she makes it sound like it is.

We’re living under Obama right now. You know what? An urban NY district that was Democrat for 90 years became Republican because Jews decided to vote for a Catholic Republican because the Jewish Democrat was for gay marriage.

As extremely disappointed as I am, my faith is in God to save our nation, not a human being. God can use anyone. When we forget that, that’s when we’re doomed. If Gov. Palin is obeying Him, then that is His Will for her and for us.

You are a quitter. Sarah Palin doesn’t run, so America is over? Totally ridiculous.
